It's not even as if going pop again would mean she has to go generic and too much like Starships. Marilyn Monroe or Young Forever would totally work, a totally new side as well. Right By My Side should do well, but it's nowhere near the favourite on the album.

indeed, I sent them to BJSC where it smashed....in at last place :P I only know that song from them, but its brilliant and hope to hear more of them. Shame as I don't think Overjoyed is even top 200 on itunes :(

I sent them too, I sent Laura Palmer and it didn't even qualify. All their music is amazing, the only song I dislike that they've done is 'Get Home', the rest of their material is sublime.

I dont mind pop Nicki, but i dont think she should go for Marilyn Monroe yet,i'd love to a video for Come On a Cone

Right By My Side is a bit disappointing as a single choice imo :( I mean I understand that they don't want to put out one of the Starships clones, but Right By My Side is a bit of a borefest. I'd have gone for Pound The Alarm as single #2 and then have one of the rap half of the album as the third single, (Roman Holiday perhaps? With crazy video of course). As long as Pound The Alarm and Whip It both get released I'm happy!

Actually Young Forever or Marilyn Monroe would be a good choice, but they can't just completely ignore the rap half of the album!

Young Forever has to be a single at some point. I wish she had bigger collabs on this album for her first one we got Rihanna and Eminem, for this one the biggest name is Chris Brown :puke:

I thought Pound the Alarm IS one of the Starships clones.

I think Va Va Voom would make a good single, as it's one of the catchiest on her album, and like Super Bass, it has crossover appeal to urban, whilst Starships (and Pound the Alarm) have absolutely none at all.

I think Roman Holiday would be great. I could imagine even stations like Capital playing that, and it's also got an incredibly catchy chorus (which sounds very similar to another song, but I can never think what :drama:) so people that don't like hip hop might still like it.

I think Beez In the Trap could even do good if fully pushed. I realized the other day it sounds a lot like the hip hop section of Imma Be, and that got to #1 on the Hot 100 not that long ago, so it's not like the US public aren't receptive to that kind of music. It could be a big hit, maybe she should do a remix of it for a single release, and have it switch to a dance beat halfway through like Imma Be does.

Anyone know what kind of lead Tulisa still has? Has she fallen much throughout the week!?
I love RBMS i think it could do well, Pound the alarm sounds too much like Starships to be released straight after, anyway Starships doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon
It isn't even that commercial. It doesn't have a defined structure, there's no proper chorus and the production is very dark and mysterious. If it wasn't for Rihanna you probably wouldn't even say it was commercial.

Completely agree, it isnt commercial in my eyes, Charlie Brown screamed hit more then this did. The only thing with this is it has the woman who can do no wrong featuring, Rihanna ofcourse. I do like it though, just not my fave from them.

I agree with Va Va Voom, when I first heard it, I thought 'yeah, this is the Super Bass of the album', it does have more of that crossover appeal than the likes of Pound The Alarm or Whip It.

Roman Holiday and Beez In The Trap would bomb here though, but Beez would do really in America I think. It's got a real minimal hip hop beat that seems quite popular there, so that'd be a good US choice. They need to play safer here for a UK hit though, sadly, I'd like to see Beez do really well.

It is! I'd just release them one after the other but that wouldn't be in the record label's best interest  Va Va Voom would be a good single, I think it just lacks that 'oomph' that made Super Bass so popular. I'd love Roman Holiday to be a single, but I think it's a long shot and will always be 'the interesting album track that never made it'. Beez In The Trap would do quite well in the USA, but it'd completely bomb in the UK, so maybe that could be a US-only single?

Carly's at 0.7, so Tulisa's got a lead of 0.3. I think he had a lead of 0.4 at some point in the week, so she's fallen a bit, but Carly's in bright green on Kworb anyway.

Nicki said a few weeks ago that Roman Holiday won't be a single, but I hope she changes her mind. :( It's such a weird song though. She sounds like a witch when she says "You'll be okaaaaaayyyyyyyy". And if they ever sent it to radio they should cut out the bit where she starts singing Come All Ye Faithful halfway through. Or at least shorten it, it really drags on imo. :drama:
I think 'Beez In The Trap' could do okay here actually, although it's definitely not the best single choice by a long shot.

Thanks. That's not too bad, look's like it might be a consistant seller and won't have a big fall next week.

It's not an awful choice, but it certainly wouldn't make much of a splash.

Roman Holiday is one of the most epic songs I have ever heard. I don't want her to release it because the majority of people won't get it, though I would like a video for it.

I'm indifferent to RBMS, which is why I don't want her to release it. Bore.

She should go with Young Forever or Marilyn Monroe, two of the more heartfelt songs.

The first verse of Pound the Alarm is one of the highlights on the album, but the rest is meh.

As much as I love the rap side, I'm fearing she won't go anywhere near it when choosing singles :(

No, changed my mind again.. F*CK EVERYTHING AND JUST GO WITH ROMAN HOLIDAY!!!!!!!!

Guest performers on Britains Got Talent next week are - apparently -

Tulisa/Rebecca Ferguson

Rita Ora/Justin Bieber

Labrinth

The Saturdays

The Wanted

Susan Boyle (finale)

Bloody hell it's all very B-list! Glad i don't watch BGT :D

Where Have You Been  #14

Primadonna is now only very slightly ahead of Can't Say No... It's going to be a close one on Sunday, as she'll no doubt fall further over the weekend...
