I don't mind one-weekers. Just when they're dreadful songs like 'Young' and 'R.I.P' it's meh.

I see nothing to suggest R.I.P. will be a one-weeker? There aren't any releases next week big enough to get to #1 (somewhat significant ones are D'banj, Delilah, Mark Ronson/Katy B if that's actually released, The Saturdays, Scissor Sisters and Skepta) so the only way she'd have just one week at the top is if she's so frontloaded that Carly gets back there or another song that's already released (fun./Alex Clare/Train/Rihanna etc.) climbs up there. I think she'll have at least 2 weeks there.

Surely if a song is 'meh', then it's better they just be one-weekers, rather than multi-weekers? :P

I hope if Rita Ora doesn't manage two weeks, that it's fun. who replace her.

I would like Skepta to get #1 obviously, but that's rather UNLIKELY.

If Rita gets #1 this week, would that be the first time there were two #1s in a row by UK female artists that got famous through urban music? If Delilah or Katy B (although you could argue she got famous from BRIT school) overperform next week that could make it three in a row.

Just had my first listen of R.I.P. Its a bit blah. Theres nothing much to the song, no catchy melody, nothing

I'm not happy about it, but since R.I.P is heading to number 1 i hope it has the decency to stay there for a couple of weeks. :D I hate one-weekers.

Also, kind of random but where did "You make me feel" by Cobra Starship peak on the chart? I heard it last night and forgot what a TUNE it was...

Just realised Rita will be the first artist of 2012 to have 2 #1s this year if she gets there, as she was featured on the DJ Fresh track, also she only had 2 tracks released so far...

I wonder if Bre spot this

Madonna had one of these aswell. Maybe it'll be something all the artists on Interscope end up doing. :drama:

Yeah, that's a weird thought. And I think the other artist from the song, DJ Fresh, will probably be the 2nd artist to get 2 #1s this year.

Rita Ora has been in the charts before, she just didn't get officially credited.

If you're thinking of Over by Drake, then she doesn't actually sing does she, she's just in the video?

According to Wikipedia she sings on Craig David's 'Where's Your Love' (#58 in 2008). Tinchy Stryder is also on that song but only he has an official featuring credit.

No sign of Modestep in the top 200 yet, there goes that returning them to the top 40.

Matrix and Futurebound's EP is still AWOL, it now comes up in the search but when you click to view the album it gives an error message.

Yeah, there's that aswell, but knowing the UK that song probably didn't even get into the charts... :( That's the song that I kept saying the beginning of Born To Die sounds like btw.

I was thinking Where's Your Love by Craig David/Tinchy Stryder from 2008. That was before she got signed to a record label, so she didn't get credited I guess, but she's in the music video.

EDIT: Beaten. :drama:

No, because Rita got famous through DJ Fresh's "Hot Right Now", a dance (drum n' bass to be exact) song B-) Great to see that Tinie Tempah is finally going to get a 3rd UK #1 hit, when he should've had one 6 months ago with "Earthquake". In fact Tinie could've been getting a 5th #1 if it wasn't for that football song stopping Frisky from being a #1 midweek, and if Pro Green wasn't massively frontloaded. Oh well, I can dream.
