Their previous #1 was an EP, but still a number one. I'll have a look for some estimates, but I hope Music Week will give sales tomorrow! :D

Eight tracks and 31 minutes of music - more than some albums I have.

That will be why it charted in the albums instead of the singles, I guess.

Really disappointed that Cover Drive could not hang onto a Top 10 placing - Can see the album plummeting next week, Such a shame as its a great pop album, Also Train didn't manage to climb as much as the mids promised with their amazing album.

So pleased to see Engelbert in at #64  The Graham Norton show saved it from being a #78 smash hit i feel!

Under the Iron Sea – 835,100 (end of 2007)

Perfect Symmetry – 351,272 (w/c 09/05/10)

Night Train – 76,500 (end of 2010)

Hopes & Fears sales were given earlier this year, I think, but I can't find it. It's done way over 2 million, though!

Thanks for the sales.

Horrible drop for Marina :(

Engelbert, at the ripe age of 76, must have the record for the oldest artist to have a chart hit with a newly recorded original song? ('Original song' to differentiate from Tony Bennett who of course had a hit with 'Body & Soul' not long ago at age 85).
Bit of a long shot but im hoping Engelbert can hang on in the Top 75 this week - He is still #1 on Amazon's CD single chart [Outselling Madonna which does not bode well for her this week!], Its also moved to #56 on Amazon's main sales chart after being outside of the Top 100 last week and #39 on their download chart.
Yay Engelbert, already FAR more successful than Josh, and beating Andy Abraham too. Hopefully bodes well for a top 40 hit post-Eurovision!

He's on This Morning either tommorow or Tuesday and performing too. That could keep him top 100 and maybe climbing back up and higher. Shocked he was 64 today considering the climbing was by the weekend and he was falling most of Saturday.

Oh Marina. At least it was number one!
Yeah Ellie only fell 16-17 in her third week, Christina dropped 60% second week, from 24.3k to 9.7k. For Marina to fall by less than that she'd need to sell 8.5k this week, 1.1k higher than the #13 sold last week, can't see it...

It actually rose 16-15 IIRC but whatever, same basic point. I'm taking a "WELL AT LEAST SHE GOT THE #1 EH?" attitude with Marina.

Engelbert at #64 is better than I expected. :D Annoyed to see Lungs back ahead of Ceremonials, I really wish that did better.

'Loveless' by My Bloody Valentine isn't a new entry, it reached #24 in 1991. 'Isn't Anything' on the other hand is. Pretty amazing for them to have three albums in top 75 at once.

What am I missing?

Another Chase & Status feat. Plan B song, 'Pieces'. One week at #70 in 2008.

(It's 101 not 102, that was a calculator fail from me - I must have accidentally added one of the one-weekers twice).

Thanks, I will go back and check that one.

On checking, he's not credited on the posting of the Top 100 on this site (http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=80044) which is where I would have originally picked up the chart for that week from, nor on the Chase & Status aartist page/record page on Chartstats (http://chartarchive.org/r/33771), although he is credited there in very tiny writing on the "cover" art.

He is credited on Polyhex though :P I would have thought that would be your primary source for top 75 material.

I've never used Polyhex to be honest. I generate my own chart run sequences from the Top 75s themselves.

The latest Virgin hit singles also doesn't credit Plan B, so I think it's pretty safe to say he wasn't credited on the chart at the time, although he was on the sleeve of the 12" - it would be interesting to see the actual label of the record to see if he is credited there!
