January 24, 201312 yr Shame about Rudimental. Just goes to show there isn't a perfect system to out the non no.1s. Yay for Payphone gaining a week!
January 24, 201312 yr Glad to see I wasn't the only late comer to appreciate Rudimental  I think I first heard it, like 2 weeks after release or something. Same with Swedish House Mafia (I have NO IDEA how I managed to escape them both  - I only wish I could have done the same for 'Somebody That I Used to Know'/anything Emeli Sande related.)
January 24, 201312 yr Author NON NUMBER ONE- LET ME LOVE YOU (UNTIL YOU LEARN TO LOVE YOURSELF)- NE-YO http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/48/Let_Me_Love_You_(Until_You_Learn_to_Love_Yourself).jpg NEW PEAK POSITION: 2 Another song not overly liked on Buzzjack takes a tumble here, failing to unseat "Hall Of Fame" and giving a little solace to Will.i.am for his previous demotion. This follows both "So Sick" and "Beautiful Monster" in getting demoted meaning he becomes one of the unluckiest acts on this thread. Ae-592ipeU4
January 24, 201312 yr Author NON NUMBER ONE- SWEET NOTHING- CALVIN HARRIS FEATURING FLORENCE WELCH http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/5f/Calvin_Harris_-_Sweet_Nothing_cover.jpg NEW POSITION: 3 After four consecutive No 2 hits as lead artist in the charts there was celebration when Harris finally bagged another No 1 with this back in October but sorry to say it doesn't count on this thread. Worse still it actually gets demoted to No 3 unable to pass either "Beneath Your Beautiful" or "Don't You Worry Child" who much more consistent sellers through the period. GGikYoLRrJk
January 24, 201312 yr If this thread was real I'd be so angry right now at Ne-Yo and Calvin being demoted of #1s. I love them both! I can't believe Ne-Yo's consistency - when So Sick went to #1 in 2006 I did like it but I never thought he'd have this amount of staying power! I also thought Calvin's career was over after You Used To Hold Me flopped but he came back stronger than ever! Both artists are deserving of those #1s.
January 24, 201312 yr Author NON NUMBER ONE- LITTLE THINGS- ONE DIRECTION http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/1/10/One_Direction_-_Little_Things.png NEW PEAK POSITION: 3 Naughty Labrinth, not content with depriving Calvin Harris he again denies a real life No 1 from cute as a button One Direction. "Candy" was also above this track on this chart, and to be fair their winning tally of 85k was the lowest in some 7 wks so they have little to grumble about really. yUjSdV8IhoI
January 24, 201312 yr Shame about Sweet Nothing's demotion. :( Unfortunately, it wasn't until it was out of the Top 10 when it started to stabilise. Little Things being demoted however... :yahoo: I always see people posting snippets of the lyrics on Facebook, but no-one ever actually listens to or talks about the song. I think it will be forgotten about in a years time. It's success relied a lot on that X Factor performance. Edited January 24, 201312 yr by liamk97
January 24, 201312 yr Yay for chart justice :cheer: Little Things was much better than LWWY but it didn't deserve #1 - it was very lucky it wasn't released in a competitive week.
January 24, 201312 yr Shame for "Sweet Nothing", its sales justify it being called a big hit but it was surrounded by some even bigger ones.
January 24, 201312 yr it was very lucky it wasn't released in a competitive week. Really? Bruno and Little Mix were both out that week and did 70k+, 1D managed about a 10k lead even with a day disadvantage. Maybe the sales weren't as big as some weeks around that time but it did well for the situation.
January 24, 201312 yr Glad to see I wasn't the only late comer to appreciate Rudimental  I think I first heard it, like 2 weeks after release or something. Same with Swedish House Mafia (I have NO IDEA how I managed to escape them both  - I only wish I could have done the same for 'Somebody That I Used to Know'/anything Emeli Sande related.) I wasn't late to appreciate Rudimental, I first heard it four weeks before it came out. My mum just heard it on the radio and told me what it was called. There really is no justice for the delights of Let Me Love You and Sweet Nothing. :(
January 25, 201312 yr Author NON NUMBER ONE- THE POWER OF LOVE- GABRIELLE APLIN http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51E6OhWvMmL._SL500_AA280_.jpg NEW PEAK POSITION: 4 Yes OK you knew this was coming, when it hit No 1 it was with the fourth lowest weekly total for the whole of 2012. That's reflected in the fact that it only manages No 4 on this chart unable to overtake Olly Murs, Bruno Mars and James Arthur zNpeK7sDLzE
January 25, 201312 yr Author NON NUMBER ONE- HE AIN'T HEAVY HE'S MY BROTHER- The Justice Collective http://i1.cdnds.net/12/50/300x225/music-justice-collective-he-aint-heavy-single-cover.jpg NEW PEAK POSITION: 2 And for your final demotion of 2012 it's a biggie altering the destination of the festive top spot! A quick slide of 1-5-21 can't place it anywhere near James Arthur though a healthy sale of 269k in one week eases it ahead of the rest of the field, so until next year this thread is one again OVAH! :D 9TC8SF4FrtM

January 25, 201312 yr NON NUMBER ONE- THE POWER OF LOVE- GABRIELLE APLIN Knew it! Now I'll be able to stop stressing it now it's in this thread! :P
January 25, 201312 yr That is a terrible performance of She Doesn't Mind but I really like the song - and Sean Paul in general (his songs and his body  )
January 25, 201312 yr Gotye getting 7 weeks on this system :o If only that was real life. 'She Doesn't Mind' being a new #1 seems a little bit odd, it was a big hit at the time but doesn't really feel like one now while most of the new #1s are still very well-known songs that just unluckily missed out on #1. 'Whistle' seems less odd. I'm surprised looking back that 2011 only had one 'new' #1 when it seemed like a year full of non-#1s, compared to 2012 which only really had 1 or 2. I guess 'Moves Like Jagger' just blocked almost all of them in 2011 :P I think it would be interesting to produce a list like this for albums, if only to see how many additional weeks Adele/Emeli can get. January 25, 201312 yr An albums one would be great actually. In fact wait, that would mean Foo Fighters missing out in 2011. NO GEZZA, DON'T DO IT!
