January 24, 201411 yr Author PJ & DUNCAN- LET'S GET READY TO RHUMBLE- NON NUMBER ONE http://i44.tinypic.com/mtl3f8.jpg NEW PEAK POSITION: 4 Not a fan of flash in the pan number ones? Well this was probably the definition of it in 2013, charting 1-6-32-68 in the real chart but here could make it no further than No 4 in April. yjXZmtg7GwI
January 24, 201411 yr Author 13.04.13 PINK FEATURING NATE RUESS- JUST GIVE ME A REASON- NEW NUMBER ONE (1 WK) http://i40.tinypic.com/2n8bkf9.jpg Michael OUTRAGED! T Boy happy, hey swings and roundabouts Buzzjack as we bestow the status of a NEW NUMBER ONE on this duet which is rewarded for its tenacity on the charts moving 10-4-3-3-{2}-2-3-5-7-8-10 in the top 10 back in the spring, and here takes full advantage of that PJ & Duncan slip! January 24, 201411 yr I agree... "Just Give Me A Reason" will always be the UK #1 that never was to me, especially when it had like 3 versions in the iTunes top 40 at one point!
January 24, 201411 yr Well that's a great choice for promotion if I've ever seen one, certainly felt like a huge track at the time (plus it's a brilliant song). Earnt far more of a prestigious status than PJ & Duncan did, I don't think I've ever seen a #1 get forgotten quicker.
January 24, 201411 yr Oops I forgot PJ & Duncan made #1 when I wrote that post half an hour ago :kink: As much as I HATE that P!nk song I will admit that it deserved #1 over '…Rhumble' in terms of sales and longevity, thank gawd that it never actually made #1 though, I don't like the song at all!
January 24, 201411 yr T Boy is certainly happy! I wasn't sure it would make it here because in thought the 2 no.1s either sider PJ & Duncan might have held it off. Truly deserved and it makes the blow of losing JLAP here a little softer.
January 25, 201411 yr Author NAUGHTY BOY FEATURING SAM SMITH- LA LA LA- NON NUMBER ONE http://i43.tinypic.com/2i1co3.jpg NEW POSITION: 2 Not exactly a low selling track (this sold over 350k in a 21 day period) it was sandwiched between bigger sellers (namely "Get Lucky" and "Blurred Lines" and it's not the last of the summer's big tracks to get demoted here!.... 3O1_3zBUKM8
January 25, 201411 yr Author ICONA POP FEATURING CHARLI XCX- I LOVE IT- NON NUMBER ONE http://i41.tinypic.com/2j11jf6.png NEW POSITION: 2 Another sure fire No 1 on the real chart this only managed one week ahead of "Blurred Lines" which here claims its revenge and racks up a total of 6 weeks as the nations No 1 here..... UxxajLWwzqY
January 25, 201411 yr YAY at 'I Love It' being demoted. :D Shame about 'La La La' but not really unexpected considering its circumstances - it's still likely to be a million seller in the near future so it's not exactly done badly for itself.
January 25, 201411 yr Author JOHN NEWMAN- LOVE ME AGAIN- NON NUMBER ONE http://www.popjustice.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/John-Newman-LMA1-250x250.jpg PEAK POSITION: 2 Only two chart toppers debut at the top on this chart, one of them put paid to John Newman's No 1 "Love Me Again". Now fondly (ahem) remembered as the week the iTunes thread stanned hard for him, here he loses out to Avicii's "Wake Me Up" with a mighty first week sale of 266k some 9 k ahead of Newman's three week total. _R9b1aEOWQQ
January 26, 201411 yr The rules clearly need to be amended to exclude singles that sell 900,000 copies within 12 months from being non-number 1s. :D
January 26, 201411 yr I suppose La La La is like a Moves Like Jagger equivalent in this thread: huge selling song that just couldn't make the summit in the time frame.
January 26, 201411 yr Author STORM QUEEN- LOOK RIGHT THROUGH- NON NUMBER ONE http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/3/37/Storm_Queen_Look_Right_Through.jpg NEW PEAK POSITION: 2 As many predicted it's curtains for Storm Queen on this thread where it can't quite manage to squeeze past Eminem's "Monster" not helped of course by its 1-6-7-15 chart run. It's stabilised since but only time will tell if it's remembered or not. 9c3EQhtf9-U
January 26, 201411 yr Author MARTIN GARRIX- ANIMALS- NON NUMBER ONE http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/0a/Animals_by_Martin_Garrix.jpg NEW PEAK POSITION: 2 Much like Storm Queen, another record which had a terrible run (initially) for a No 1 moving 1-6-10-9-13 which has enabled it to make this thread. Indeed it only beat Ellie Goulding to the No 2 spot by less than 400 copies. gCYcHz2k5x0
January 26, 201411 yr Author CALVIN HARRIS & ALESSO FT HURTS- UNDER CONTROL- NON NUMBER ONE http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/b6/Calvin_Harris_and_Alesso_feat_Hurts_-_Under_Control.png NEW PEAK POSITION: 2 Much as it pains me to demote the mighty Hurts in any form, I'm afraid "Under Control" just can't make it to the top of our survey, only the poor sales all around it at the top managed to help it get as high in this chart where it played second fiddle to Lily Allen! yZqmarGShxg

January 26, 201411 yr I'd rank 2013 about as good as it's ever got for number one singles, but the ones demoted tended to be some of the better ones, apart from Calvin they'd all be in my top half.
