May 22, 201213 yr Fantastic news that this is the next single! The second best song on the album (behind 'Young Forever'). Hopefully the video won't be delayed for so long.

Hopefully the video won't be delayed for so long. replace 'young forever' with 'whip it' and I agree there. :P although YF is another album highlight for me. such an amazing song, very happy that it's pretty much officially the next single. can imagine it being huge during the summer, possibly even the number 1 hit that 'starships' couldn't quite be?
May 22, 201213 yr UK Artwork and Radio Edit for Pound the Alarm. http://www.josepvinaixa.com/blog/nicki-min...-uk-radio-edit/ That is so fake.
May 22, 201213 yr Really? Why not try and push a different sounding single beforehand? 'Right By My Side' would've been a nice addition to the radio playlists I feel. Perhaps the label is learning from the mistake of Rihanna (releasing two different sounding singles and the dance 'We Found Love') and missing out the 'filler' singles.
May 22, 201213 yr ^ Rihanna didn't make any "mistakes" there imo. Where Have You Been would've flopped if it was released any earlier than now. Rihanna has never released 2 dance songs in a row, and she never will do. There's no way Pound the Alarm is going #1 imo. It's not really that popular with the people I've talked to about it. I think it'll probably peak at like #3 or something. Just a warning though, I think we might actually be waiting a long time for the video, if Nicki is releasing a different song in the US, as she'll want the video to coincide with their release, rather than ours. Personally, I think Pound the Alarm is one of the most boring songs on the album. If she wanted another song like this for her next UK single, I really think Va Va Voom would've been a much better choice. Edited May 22, 201213 yr by Eric_Blob
May 23, 201213 yr "Automatic" or "Va Va Voom" >>> But I think this is fake, and "Whip It" is the next single.
May 24, 201213 yr I presume this is a lie because someone asked her on Twitter if that is the cover for PTA and she said "no it is NOT".
May 25, 201213 yr Whip It and Champion are also singles at some point according to her Twitter. I bet Champion won't be tbh. It'll be a US-only single, and she won't even send it to pop/mainstream radio there I bet.
May 26, 201213 yr I am happy she is going for Pound The Alarm in the UK but i have a feeling we will be waiting a long time on a Video :(
May 26, 201213 yr Yeah it's similar to 'Starships' but it's such a tune and PERFECT for the summer too! Will be another huge hit for her I should imagine, Top 5 at least. This is going to be her Good Girl Gone Bad / Teenage Dream I think.
May 27, 201213 yr APPARENTLY: The 'Starships' rapper has offered four possible choices to act as her latest release. Nicki Minaj is asking her fans to help her choose her next single from latest album 'Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded'. The 'Fly' star posted a new poll on her official website which gives four songs to select from. The choices are 'Marilyn Monroe', 'Fire Burns', 'Young Forever' and 'Gun Shot'. The star only recently unveiled the music video to her latest release 'Right By My Side' featuring R&B singer Chris Brown. The promo to the track also sees her sharing several intimate moments with hip-hop star Nas. Meanwhile, Nicki is currently on her 'Pink Friday' world tour in Japan having performed at the Yokohoma Bay Hall last night (25th May) and will return to the UK for a series of shows at the end of next month and across the summer at a variety of festivalsAccording to CapitalFM's website. 'Young Forever' or NOTHING please! 'Marilyn Monroe' can wait! (But I expect that will be chosen next :( It's actually my least favourite from the four )
May 27, 201213 yr I think I'll die if it's Gun Shot or Fire Burns, my least favourites from the pop side :( I do like them though so it'll be OK, it's just Marilyn Monroe and especially Young Forever SCREAM for release!
May 27, 201213 yr It has to be Young Forever out of those four, Marilyn Monroe wouldn't be too bad but the other two would do next to nothing I'd imagine.
May 27, 201213 yr so it won't be 'pound the alarm' next then? :( out of those four I'd also go for 'young forever', as it's in my top 5 of the album. beautiful song, my favourite slow song on the album. would be much better for the winter though. :(
May 28, 201213 yr Her team must be on some good crack. What about Automatic? But of that lot it would obviously have to be Young Forever.
