But the thing is, Cheryl did not sing live? Kylie sung the entire song live, no miming involved at all, she just sang over the song during the chorus which most vocalists do anyway, you could hear her live vocals extremely easily.

 

Cheryl didn't sing a note live because she can't. To me if you have to pre record your voice and sing over it you can't sing very well. I only mentioned it because people were saying Tulisa was worse but although she was out of tune it was all live. We have a difference of opinion here but I think Kylie mimed most of it which meant the comparison with Tulisa was unfair. Was just a general point I don't care if Kylie sang live or not to be honest.

I'm going to get laughed out of the forum for this but Cheryl CAN sing live, it's just that she always chooses to mime and let the dancing side take priority.

Actually Regina most of Kylie's TV performances over the years have been mimed. It's very difficult to find live performances of any of the Light Years, Fever or Body Language singles. The sound quality of the vocals sounded distinctly pre-recorded to me but if it was a pre-record then she's a real pro because she made it look live.

The chorus was the only bit I could clearly hear the pre recording and obv the "woops" but thats about it.

Cheryl can sing, yes she doesn't have the biggest power vocals but she can sing the notes right without going off pitch and has an average singing voice. It's her dancing which gives her all the trouble in performing live.

I don't know why some people are still so bitter about Cheryl being Nation's Sweetheart, etc. Like half the population hates her now anyway, so people can stop going around obsessively saying she's racist or whatever to try and get people to hate her. And clearly saying she's a bad singer won't make people hate her. Most of the biggest pop stars of this generation (Britney Spears, Rachel Stevens, etc.) aren't very good singers.

Thats boring though, if Kylie was to just stand there and sing an upbeat song like Timebomb with the extra oomph of a backing track, it'd be dull :P

She has proved she can sing without any help, this is not one of those songs where thats a good way to perform.
