Well we're just being realistic I guess. I mean was it even released physically? If not, it's digital sales are unlikely to amount to 10,000 in the US considering the poor sales climate. I'd love to be proved wrong though. :)

Their best video is easily 'Ego' for me. 'Just Can't Get Enough' is second and 'Higher' & 'Notorious' 3rd & 4th. 'What About Us' would rank about 8th I think.

Higher suffers from bad editing which stops it being amazing (see the end of the first chorus/start of second verse and the mollie/vanessa/una bridge)

What About Us has the problem it was filmed on such a hot day there is a strange glow everywhere.

I think Ego is one of the better ones, but Missing You is also very good even if it doesn't really fit the song.

Ego and All Fired Up are amazing. The whole first minute of Notorious is also amazing.

What About Us has quite a good video, to be honest. The girls never looked that good before.

after watching the third episode of CTS - i can honestly say, i don't care if it doesn't work out anymore... so long as Not Giving Up On Love is the next single!!!!!!!! #1 summer smash all over it!
Basically they have flopped ....... 2nd from bottom of us tv ratings and their worst selling single ever despite being in a bigger market

You can't be serious? The campaign for the song has barely started, it's not even had a radio tour yet.

To an extent I believe What About Us has kinda under performed in the US. I think it's most likely sound around 20,000 in the US. It's okay I guess but they've promoted quite well and have had a show where 650-800k are watching weekly!

The radio airplay is slowly decreasing, I still don't think the song's been sent to radio. I'm not going to write it off as a flop until April if the airplay has not increased. It's not top 700 in the USA which is quite poor.

I don't think it's underperformed at all. I do think their label are idiots, though. The week that the song was at #102 on iTunes the girls should have been doing a radio tour or something instead of coming back to the UK. It's sad to see it's dropped over 600 places in a matter of weeks but with no airplay or promotion and the girls not even in the country what else was going to happen? The song COULD be saved but it's going to take alot of time and effort. Airplay is absolutely vital but with Rochelle being heavily pregnant and the UK release next month I just don't know when/how they're going to fit in the promo for the US release, unless they're waiting until April to come back? Although the show will be dead by then...

I'm inclined to agree with Lee, and while I also won't write it off for a while yet, I don't think things are looking too encouraging at the moment. Well, it almost breaking the iTunes Top 100 was certainly positive, but they didn't manage to capitalise on that.

I guess it's a case of 'wait and see'.

WTF worst selling? Not even released int he UK yet, get your facts right mate

also guys remember it got in the top 100 in Canada which means it wasnt a total flop? PLUS its still to be released in the UK, Ireland, Australia, Spain and Germany

Top 100 in Canada is good but remember that America is the main focus. It probably won't do that much in the other countries (besides UK and Ireland) because the US is the main target for this song and all promotional efforts will be for there only, I'd imagine.

I think they're better off calling this a buzz single and returning later on in the year with Higher.

Give them time for Christ's sake, its only been a few weeks since they were there and already it's like the sky is falling for quite a few of you

Songs from new artists generally take MONTHS to get going, let alone peak.

For example, The Wanted - Glad You Came. After 4 months it had only sold ~400k. Current total is 3,388,000.

A lot of you are looking at it's US performance with a UK chart mentality. The download culture, the chart system... it's completely different.

Exactly! :) but it's end of the world if it doesn't chart well after a few weeks of being sent to radio, for many of you guys isn't it?

The examples of Ellie Goulding and The Wanted - they all had something additionally going on for them which gave them boosts to achieving major success with Lights and Glad You Came.

I didn't follow the success of Ellie closely, but I gleaned that a 'Lights' remix caught on, which in turn put the original song on the map. The Wanted "debuted" on Ellen, and within the week their airplay audience was at 8.407, and then increased by over a million on a daily basis. They also had the major benefit of their song being included in an episode of Glee, it exploded thereafter.

The Saturdays already have a unique selling point - their reality series, which is giving them exposure very early on. When the season has finished its run, what will be the element that gets them and 'What About Us' noticed?

While I know it can take weeks/months for some songs to catch on, there's no guarantee that this will definitely happen with 'What About Us'. Like I said, while it shouldn't be written off completely at this stage, I can understand those who are feeling a bit pessimistic at the moment.
