A trailer has been poster for the new album, due out later this year:

Not sure if it's indicating the sort of route they're going down for the album...hopefully not, as it sounds horrific (well, the ending anyway)!

I was never a huge fan of 'The Resistance', although I loved all their previous albums so I'm still looking forward to this.

Woo. New Muse is always a good thing. Excited.

The clip sounds good, quite different for them though. Almost sounds like Skrillex. (This isn't a bad thing IMO).

While I really really hope they've not made a dubstep album, the music throughout sounded pretty great to me.

WOO.

Absolutely love them and their last era was very strong so I definitely look forward to this. They've never been ones to bandwagon hop though so I hope its not all dubstep like that clip suggests, the first part sounded great though!
Always look forward to a new Muse album, now between this and the Killers i have at least 2 new albums to look forward to this year.

Well I thought their last album was a massive disappointment, having loved everything they'd done previously. Devon's finest had not put a step wrong up until that point. That said, "Uprising" was a fantastic tune and great update of the Dr Who theme!

Here's hoping for a supermassive return to form!

I have a feeling this will be terrible and bloated. :(
Trailer's had over 600,000 views in one day. Definitely got people talking about them again, which was surely the idea.

The last album was about 5 great songs and a hand full of poor ones.

I think dubstep suits them but it needs to be the f***ed up type that Skrillex had on First of the Year.

I was listening to this in the car today and it came on the radio as an exclusive first play - and it went dead THE MOMENT it started! :drama:

You can listen to it here though:

Thoughts? I think It sounds very 'them' but at the same time sounds quite different, I'm not entirely sure what to think of it atm. Slightly glad to see its not dubstep influenced though

its apparently the Official London 2012 Olympics song (even though there's been other songs identified as that, they DEFINITELY the right act for the job though!) and released to Itunes tonight! its all happening :o

Some people in the iTunes thread thought this would be a future contender for #1 even before they heard it - having given it a listen, it'd be probably the weirdest #1 since Welcome to the Black Parade.
I really like it, lots of build up and don't mind it being the official Olympics song either, sounds very suited to the event. It'll gets lots of exposure obviously but it probably doesn't have the right kind of appeal to reach #1..we'll see how it goes.

Race, life’s a race

Far away, This ship is taking me far away

Corrupt, You're corrupt

bury it, I won't let you bury it

anyone else notice how often Matt's lyrics use the same configuration? The first three are all opening lyrics too. It's tedious at this stage.

I hope this isn't on the album as I really do not like it. The YouTube clip at the top sounds far more interesting.

So Survival is on it then. Bad sign. I do hope this album isn't just going to be an extension of the more shit songs on The Resistance (i.e. the ones that sounded like Queen).

Half of those sounds like parody "Muse" song titles. How can they even keep a straight face and release a song with such a ludicrous title as 'The 2nd Law: Unsustainable'?

Survival is definately their most Queen-like song I've heard. Not as strong as Uprising, I don't think this album will be a roaring success. :(

Kind of think this should go in the Sports forum but as close as we're going to get for an official video for "Survival":

Love it, and the song's growing on me. TV stations will run to the hills though, they'd far rather play "Starships" for the 47258th time.
