Trust Cheryl to release a complete non-entity of a song, receive loads of airplay from TV & Radio, and fly to #1 with (likely) around 150k+ :(

If Cheryl sold 80k in 2 days and only done 17k for Tues, probably another 60k on top (15k per day, allow 5k for trailing off towards the end of the week), she is probably looking at 155+

Do you think we will get some sales info on friday martin?

Excellent sales for Cheryl! Also great to see Tyler back in the Top 40 more than 7 years since he was last there - Would love to see his album make an appearance too!

I thought Adele might have sneaked back into the Top 10 albums this week too guess we'll have to wait for the BBC to show 'Live At The Royal Albert Hall' again for that to happen

Good to see Coldplay/Rihanna in the Top 5, I think it has a chance of reaching the Top 3, but that depends on how much physicals Gary Barlow is still selling. Nice to see Paloma Faith’s Picking Up the Pieces climbing, I’m glad this song is sticking around! :D The same goes for D’Banj with Oliver Twist. Woop at Emeli Sande climbing 9 places – 59p and the EP is out now, I would love for it to reach Top 20 (maybe a chance of re-peaking…?) Ugh at Justin Bieber climbing and Avicii re-entering at the bottom of the Top 40 :puke:

Usher will definitely overtake Gary Barlow, and probably Amy Macdonald will do the same. I reckon Adele will re-enter the Top 10 – Hot Chip, and Rihanna, and I can see falling (the same would go for Fleetwood Mac if it wasn’t for Father’s Day). Surprised that Kylie’s The Best of has only fallen 6 places! :o I thought it would have plummeted to low Top 40. Yay at Keane a non-mover at #20 and Bruce Springsteen’s Wrecking Ball at #28 – both should climb further with Father’s Day. I see The Script and Scissor Sisters have fallen out from #24 and #25. Nicki Minaj is also out, but that will be Top 40 come Sunday as she always climbs from her midweek position.

Hopefully, fingers cross, toes cross, legs cross, ti.... forget that one

My predictions for Sunday:

Singles

01. Cheryl – Call My Name

02. Flo Rida – Whistle

03. Coldplay & Rihanna – Princess of China

04. Gary Barlow & The Commonwealth Band – Sing (feat. Military Wives)

05. Rudimental – Feel the Love (feat. John Newman)

Albums

01. Usher – Looking 4 Myself

02. Amy Macdonald – Life in a Beautiful Life

03. Coldplay – Mylo Xyloto

04. Gary Barlow & The Commonwealth Band – Sing

05. Emeli Sande – Our Version of Events/Fleetwood Mac’s 25 Years The Chain (I’m being daring here! :P )

Why do people find it so hard to believe people like me just like the Cheryl song not because of the airplay promo etc which is no difference to any other big artist
come on Amy Macdonald hopefully will hold onto the top 3

I think Cheryl's song isn't her best but it is competent dance-POP. Doesn't really go anywhere but the beat is very compulsive, moreish a la "We Found Love". It all made sense when found out Calvin produced it he's very good at that kind of thing.

Could see the album doing 75k+ which is highly Respectable!

Amy not far off no1 too would love to see her nip in if its a patch on the first couple- need to get out and buy my copy this week! She may also trail off less than Usher and surely less than Gary et al so will remain hopeful ;)

If Adele did a shred of promotion or maybe even a single she could easily regain the top 10 I think she wilfully wants to fail now rather than be hated for her ubiquity (ok maybe a bit much), it wouldn't surprise me if she starts telling people not to buy it in interviews would suit her mentality!

See my MotW. :D

I still think Cheryl's sales will collapse by 50% next week which could see Flo Rida overtake next week but still fall short of Maroon 5. If the fake 'Payphone' is #7 on iTunes, the actual version is surely going to be no. 1 next week.

Receive tons of airplay... LOL

Her peak is #4 on the airplay chart, she has received as much airplay as probably other 50 songs this year... usign that excuse now it's just ridiculous, why do you demand her to do something that anybody else does? first it was XF, now it's because she peaks at #4 on the airplay charts. Get a life.

Really really glad to see Kelly's album climbing, even if it's by one place :) And nice to see Dark Side top 40 too :w00t:

Thanks for replying, really means a lot :)

Seriously though; No.3 on TV, and No.7 on Radio last week. I'd say that's a considerable amount of airplay at the moment. Not saying that's the ONLY reason it's selling, as there's clearly alot of people who genuinely like the song, which is fine. I personally think it's nothing special. But there's no denying that being Top 10 on both airplay charts, and having plenty of media exposure (which she does) definitely plays a part in the song's success. Maybe my post was slightly more bitter than it should've been, but OH WELL

Get a life.

WHOA. I am shocked and offended.

The interesting thing will be how the 2nd single does and whether the album sells strongly in a poor sales climate for albums. Call My Name will probably sell a good 7/800k but i cant see her album touching the million mark

Good luck to her, she's proven me wrong coming back with a strong single at any rate

But that song has nothing to do with Cheryl. Calvin wrote & produced the track. She provided vocals. This song could have been sung by any other artist and sounded the same. It's a good song tho. Calvin knows the job.

If "Euphoria" was given to Cheryl (instead of Loreen) and got released in the UK - big promotion etc, it would have been one of the biggest sellers of 2012. Shame that R1 doesn't support good songs anymore. Cheryl is a profitable act - with a very little talent, but lots of money is thrown...
