June 14, 201214 yr 'More Than This' isn't going to be a proper single is it? It's just being used to promote the tour DVD, hence why it's a "live" video I guess. (That's what I've heard somewhere anyway) 'Tis what I believe. There's been no announcement with artwork, a digital EP or a physical release, so I'm just assuming it's a promotional single only.
June 17, 201214 yr I'll just add my thoughts to the Sean Paul argument. Every year around this time there is the big weekend and Radio 1 always playlist a ton of the acts performing, which makes sense so the radio 1 audience will be aware of all the artists on the bill and I have a suspicion that the promise of airplay may be one of the reasons they agree to play the big weekend. Look at the additions to this weeks C-List every single one of them bar Major Lazer is performing at the big weekend..This includes the rather unusual addition of Nas who is headlining the 1xtra stage on Sunday. Whose headlining the 1xtra stage on Saturday? Yep you've guessed it it's Sean Paul so perhaps that is why got 2 luv u has been playlisted...
June 17, 201214 yr ^ Yeah, that's a good theory actually. I noticed Capital FM do the same when acts perform at their concert too. Like I remember in mid 2011 they suddenly put Like a G6 back in high rotation because Far East Movement were performing. Sean Paul has announced what his 3rd single is, quite a while ago, so they could've playlisted that instead though.
June 17, 201214 yr fantastic to see nicki being added :wub: hope this can manage to do better than 'starships' if the video release is handled a lot better this time around. bleh at misha being added though, I'm trying to avoid hearing her song for as long as I can. i don't think any Nicki Minaj song will EVER do better than 'Starships', it was a number 2 smash that lingered in the charts for months... i luv 'Pound the alarm' and glad that she chose it as the follow up over 'Whip it' which is amazing too but less than PTA. June 17, 201214 yr I agree. Starships is going to be too difficult for her to top now. To top Starships, that means the song has to get to #1, spend 3+ months in the top 10, sell over 750,000. That's just a bit too much to expect imo, certainly from this album anyway. It's like saying a Rihanna song will be bigger than Umbrella, or a Britney song will be bigger than Baby One More Time. Starships wasn't as big as those songs, but it's still setting the bar ridiculously high.
