Itunes data is nothing... and considering Bieber is #1 and #7 and Cheryl is #2 and #5, I don't know how you can't see it and why you keep insisting Cheryl will be #1, she won't. Fantastic comeback! Leona's debut has sold nearly 4 times as much as Cheryl's debut and 'Echo' has still outsold 'Messy Little Raindrops' despite Cheryl having the role as a judge at the time and Leona's album peaking one position lower. So positions count for NOTHING. :) As if his post was any better... "breakdown", he must be a teenager (who feels exactly how he described in his post) if he thinks we're going to have a breakdown if Cheryl is not #1, I would have a breakdown if tomorrow I lose my job and I can't keep studying what I want not because someone is not #1 on a chart as much as I like that popstar. June 19, 201214 yr Cheryl had a mega signing today at Newcastle right...even if all those people did not get to go the signing i persume some ended up buying the album anyway... itunes will push her over 10k for day one. i think mids tommorrow will show her at 18k-22k at number 2 with bieber at 24-28k. He's beating her on all online sites right now. BLAME TEENAGE GIRLS they are insane, they have made 1D insanely huge and let The wanted and JLS get away with releasing substandard music still going to number 1. It's the teenage girls that have done this again. 9k for her for day one ain't great. By a general estimate you always do MAXIMUM four times the tuesday figure... so last week she sold 40k day one, so 4x40 = 160k, so she did 152k She won't be able to push more than 40k this week...with 9k day one. Oh why didn't she just release later in the year like September and the aloud and Cheryl record could have sold together. I know the reunion but this is awful sales for her... Bieber....go away! this is not the states - this is just another market to him, to cheryl and fans this is home. I hope he doesn't get it. the album market is so awful right now, probably better to sell a few weeks later. I don't think the 11.99 deluxe thing is helping her, people see that and go i'll buy it when it's reduced. People dont look arounf for the 8.99 version or presume there isn't one and voila she's lost a sale. She'd be lucky to do 50k in the week she'll do 40 summit i think. Not great for cheryl... I'd advance three factors- 1) "Call My Name" costs £0.99 whilst the album costs £8.99 or more (hence general lower sales) 2) Comparing sales of their last albums head to head JB outsold CC (which is what appears to be happening here). 3) Whilst people clearly like the CC single they don't want to invest in the album yet, Bieber meanwhile has been releasing tracks week by week so perhaps they are making the album feel like its more of "hits" than Cheryl's?

Beyond insane. It is following the same trend as her last albums - selling half of what the lead single sold. Except this time it's half of a half, the law of diminishing returns I guess. It's a typical trend though, artists rarely sell as many albums when they get to their 2nd or 3rd album if their first album sells well. It's extremely hard to maintain consistency in sales.

Although I was truly expecting her to do better considering the article a few days ago with the guy from Amazon saying how her pre-sales were doubling Bieber's. June 20, 201214 yr To be fair, both Justin and Cheryl's albums are average at most, so fair play to whoever gets #01 because they're a pretty evenly fought battle when it comes to material.

Beyond insane. The single market is higher than the album market. Look at the top 10 on both charts and you'll see a huge difference in figures. And it's not like the single is number 1 and the album number 85... Number 1 and number 2 are great results altogether.

When it comes to the album it's more of a gamble because it's more expensive and the quality is fairly unknown unless you've listened to a leak or to all the tracks on youtube.

June 20, 201214 yr To me, Cheryl is just another female pop singer, one of the zillions whilst Biebs is kind of unique phenomenon at the moment.
