Why can you not believe its been such a big hit?its one of the most anticipated releases of the year and had to be released 3 weeks early - it is also very instant.it has sold near 900k which HAS surprised me but 200k was probably from the early release!!

I mean, like, the first time I heard it. I never thought it would be a chart hit, let alone THIS big! I know it's catchy, but I hear catchy songs all the time that I know will never be chart hits.

And when it was first released, it did hardly anything on iTunes (another thing it shares in common with Somebody that I Used to Know and We Are Young).

 1. This Is Love (feat. Eva Simons) [Radio Edit] - will.i.am

 2. Don't Wake Me Up - Chris Brown

Finally! He took his time to get back up there.

Hopefully will.i.am can pull ahead now and return to #1 next Sunday (1-3-1 for a held back release would be quite something). Both Chris and Maroon 5 have other versions in the top 100 though, while will.i.am's second version has gone down to the low top 200 now. It could be a close one again, I could see will.i.am just staying at #3 even if he's #1 on iTunes all week. All three will have poor sales of course.

Actually, if Maroon 5 are #1 tomorrow and then will.i.am gets back there next week, we'll have 'alternating' #1s (M5-will-M5-will) for the first time in decades :o

First since Three Lions and Killing Me Softly I think, which had a slightly more apparent reason for alternating.

Hmm, Chris Brown was reportedly 1k behind Maroon 5 so it's really difficult to call which track will be no. 1 tomorrow. Would be weird though if Will.I.Am. was to slip down to #3 tomorrow only to recover and return to #1 next week.

There doesn't appear to be any big new releases again tomorrow. Whether the Calvin Harris remix of 'Spectrum' does well is left to be seen. Other than that, I can't see anything else doing well so next weeks top 10 will be yet another reshuffle of whatever the top 10 tomorrow will be.

It's like 2008 all over again.

We had Bruno Mars getting a chart run of 1-2-4-2-1 (or something similar to that) a couple of years ago I think. #4 is the lowest I've ever seen a song dip between two runs at #1. It's a pity Good Feeling didn't debut at #1, since that could've gone 1-3-4-5-6-7-3-1.

As for next week, I think Pound the Alarm will enter the top 10 (knocking out either fun. or Cheryl), and I think Florence + the Machine, Adam Lambert and Knife Party will enter the top 40. Maybe Lana Del Rey could aswell, I think she'll get a big boost on release week at any rate.

I don't have a clue what's going to be #1, either this week or next week lol.

Oh, I forgot about that one - I thought it went back as far as the 60s. Still, first time in 16 years is no mean feat.

It happened with Someone Like You and Moves Like Jagger last year in the Hot 100. Although the explanation for that was obviously Adele performing it and cutting their run into two, and then the song re-climbing by more natural means and dethroning them again after their 2nd run.

Isn't Pink's new song out tomorrow too? I'd expect that to go T10

Apparently not until September 2nd. I'm gonna hate waiting that long.

Which songs are out at midnight tonight?

Hard to call where they'll land, but I predict Adam Lambert, Florence and the Machine (Calvin Harris mix-boosted) and The Vaccines to all debut within the top 40. The Vaccines in particular are sure to debut inside the top 40 - their second album is highly anticipated, so the lead single's bound to do well.

I've not even heard this new single by The Vaccines. Has 'No Hope' been getting any radio airplay, or even video airplay? No doubt their album will most likely go to no. 1 but whether the single does well is left to be seen.
