1. Live While We're Young - One Direction

I thought it was out tomorrow but at least they've got in there before Taylor's next promo single. :D 20% lead too, at least one country has it right. :kink:

This is what the lead would have looked like in the UK if they had stuck to a single, as they have in the US.

It happens like that, because everything is on air, on sale. The same would happen in the UK if we did it like this. And also, most things that go top 10 on UK iTunes end up getting hammered by radio (or are released when they are), which gives them longevity, whilst in the US, you can go to #1 with huge sales and be pretty much ignored by radio, which obviously means you're out of the top 50 2 weeks later, since there's nothing advertising the song.

Kworb Update:

1. One Direction - Live While We're Young (1.0000)

2. PSY - Gangnam Style (강남스타일) (0.3500)

3. Ke$ha - Die Young (0.2500)

4. Maroon 5 - One More Night (0.2167)

5. Taylor Swift - We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together (0.1993)

8. Rihanna - Diamonds (0.1491)

I also wish you lived in America.

I'm surprised that Ke$ha has remained as stable as #03 on iTunes, I guess Die Young has appealed to more than her fanbase to purchase on the first week, look at Rihanna already at #08.

I don't think One Direction will be top of the billboard chart next week, but who knows if they continue to have such a massive lead they might debut in the top 3, although I fully expect them to be off the top spot when the new Taylor Swift Single is put on iTunes. It's weird that there new single goes straight to number one, The Wanted or Ellie failed to manage to even go top 20 when Anything Could Happen/ Chasing The Sun was released on iTunes.

LMFAO.

Very happy with Kesha's longevity.

Well, after it's first week of sales, I'm gonna say #4.
New Taylor Swift promo 'Red' at #4. She could actually miss iTunes #1 with this, One Direction currently selling pretty much triple the #2.
Loving the fact that despite One Direction selling loads, they won't debut at number 1 on the HOT 100 because of the piss-poor airplay (and song) !

If 1D can sell 380,000+, #1 on Hot 100 is in the bag.

If One Direction want to be number one they will need to sell nearly around 500,000!

Top 3 debut should be in the bag and that's already out-peaking WMYB. #1 isn't impossible but we'll see how it holds up, they're gaining well on airplay and PSY doesn't have much of a lead over them there, and they still have a big lead on iTunes over PSY (not as much over Taylor but they're doing well to be holding her off atm).

I think they could do it with just 400,000, since this is a much "easier" week to get #1 on than the week Boyfriend was released (and also One Direction have already gathered up a decent amount of airplay).

Olly back down to #86 AGAIN!! :( After getting to #62 after the GMA performance. Sheesh. Looks like he isn't destined for a US hit.

He's bombing on Pop radio now so it's over for HSAB. I feel as if at this point his label specifically told radio not to play HSAB to make way for the new single, but who knows.
