I hope so  It's such an incredible grand song, that it would be criminal to miss the top 40 (let alone top 100!)

There's not a chance in hell that it will miss top 40. With it smashing in so many countries and Radio 1 being guaranteed to hammer it, it's a lock for top 20 and a very likely top 5/10. Which I don't mind too much as I think the song is relatively good (and a huge improvement from the atrocity that is 'We Are Young') but I wouldn't be against it somehow doing an 'Eyes Wide Open' either.

I agree, I definitely think Some Nights will surely be one of those #11 stallers at the very least, more likely top 10. I really did think they'd be a one hit wonder and whatever they released would be a #76 SMASH but it's doing well in the US, Australia etc. and it sounds pretty similar to We Are Young but it is also sufficiently different. Perhaps most importantly is that it's definitely very radio friendly, I saw somewhere on here it was compared to Queen and I actually agree, very anthemic like WAY but in a different way.
I genuinely don't know how "Starships" had that much momentum. 21 weeks and I skip it everytime.

In the UK or in the US? in the UK you still hear it EVERYWHERE! it's on TV shows, Clubs, all the music channels, Capital FM still play it constantly and it's been out since February

I remember the day Starships premiered, Capital played it literally once every 2 hours that day...and they just haven't stopped since. The song is radio candy though, probably the safest song of 2012.
It would be amazing if Party went #1. Rita Ora would be the first artist to get 3 #1s in the same year since the Black Eyed Peas in 2009 (although Dizzee Rascal and Tinie Tempah both almost managed it in 2010, but You Got the Dirtee Love and Frisky both unluckily missed out ).

To be honest, everyone else might as well cancel their planned single releases when 'How We Do (Party)' is released because Rita Ora has already booked her place at no. 1 that week. It's just a case of waiting for Radio 1 to make it official on that Sunday but it's the most obvious UK #1 in waiting. I'd be gobsmacked if it was to end up at no. 2 instead.

It still bonkers to me that the release for How We Do (Party) is still more than a month away! I expect a fake version to be top 40 by then. It needs to be released next Sunday really and I think it will still go to #1! Plus it will get more sales in the long run due to the fakes making much less impact - I think one is already top 200?

Very much looking forward to the Karmin release next Sunday, I really hope 'Brokenhearted' can go top 5 or even #1! I haven't seen any TV airplay for it though, I hope it's just I've been missing it rather than there being none! :kink:

As for this week, I hope Florence can hang on! I really like 'Payphone', but its already at #1 so it's time to let Florence have her turn!

Maroon 5 are #1 when combined, Spectrum needs to be featured on TV tonight somehow in some form, I just hope no one performs Payphone on ITV's Superstar tonight, or a Maroon 5 track

Despite the fact we're living in the digital age of unlimited supply (where CD's would run out of stock), it amazes me that record companies in the UK are able to manipulate the charts by releasing singles to iTunes at a particular date. I totally agree, if 'How We Do' was released tomorrow it'd shoot to no. 1 next week and would certainly give Misha B a run for her money anyways. In fact, I think Rita Ora would outsell Misha B but hey, that's UK record companies for you!!!

Karmin have had a fair amount of airplay on the music channels. I've seen the video quite a few times in the last week or two. However, they're up against Conor Maynard and I have a gut feeling 'Vegas Girl' will be no. 1 ( :manson: ) but will drop down the chart quicker. 'Brokenhearted' might be another 'Moves Like Jagger', 'She Doesn't Mind' and 'Whistle' by spending a few weeks stuck at #2.

I'm starting to doubt whether Florence wil make it. 3k lead but Maroon 5 are likely to be ahead now combined (damn that second version at #20  ) so it'll be close. I can't call what the outcome is going to be so will prepare myself for disappointment. It's the UK charts. I'm used to it. :P

Did you watch Superstar last week? From the 5 or so minutes I saw, all I could hear was young men destroying songs by completely oversinging every note in a OTT fashion. It was absolutely terrible.

If anyone buys me tickets to see Jesus Christ Superstar in the next 6 months I will be deeply offended. :D

Nah... I avoided it, from what I read it was a car crash series.

I completely agree! I totally forgot that 'Home Run' was being released tomorrow - horrible song! :puke2: But yes, I think Rita would easily go to iTunes #1 tomorrow - if Florence can on limited promo/hype then Rita surely can with already a few weeks of airplay built up. I still don't understand why only the UK manipulates the charts like they do, what on earth happened to the OA/OS releases of the first half of last year! :drama: However, if this was a Diana single being released, I'd be all for waiting weeks so she can get the maximum peak possible! :kink:

Ah, that's good then! Hopefully I'll see it in the next few days, and I agree. Conor's likely to go to #1, but Karmin will easily have more longevity.

I keep forgetting about Maroon 5's second version! Whatever happens it only going to be a 1k lead or so either way, so it'll be mighty close!

tbh, I think Florence will be number one on sunday with a 800+ lead
Radio 1 play Amnesia so much, I thought it would be higher tbh even if radio play obviously doesn't always equal a hit.

I've heard it on Kiss FM and the music channels. Am surprised at how awfully it's doing tbh, I love it. :(

When is Amnesia's official release week?

Haven't a clue, but surely since it's getting decent airplay already, it's bound to do a We're All No One or something. :(
