I personally think Applause is an amazing song and it's done very well for itself so far under the circumstance and Gaga is a great harmless person, people are just being unnecessary and harsh on her. The criticism she gets is all based on hype which she can't help and I feel that is quite unfair...

 

Peopl can dislike the song y'know. I think it is without doubt her worst single yet. Gaga could be the next Mother Teresa or Hitler, either way, the song is pretty average.

Being truthful here, those criticising the songs is just as bad as the ones who loon it to death in this Gaga sub-forum. You're allowed to voice your opinion on the track but it's more along the lines of "ROAR IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN APPLAUSE AND HENCE WHY APPLAUSE SUCKS" for those attacking the track on this forum and it makes you seem like trolls. We get it if you don't like the song, no need to repeat it over and over again.

Applause at the minute is better received than Born This Way has come to be I'd say. And as much as I adore Born This Way, it actually is clearly an even better version of an Express Yourself soundalike. Also I don't see quite what's such a rip-off of Brave about Roar, like Express Yourself/BTW they just sound similar. A good few songs do nowadays, music's been around for so long and there are trends that emerge and sometimes songs just sound the same, it happens a lot whether you're Her Royal Highness Queen Of All Recorded Music Stefani Angelina Germanotta or not... I think some people just look for arguments around this kind of thing, and it's from both sides of the coin.

But Born This Way sold loads more :/

 

However, it does sound similar to Express Yourself and jealous MAdonna just had to get the boot in.

I'm hopeful that Gaga will perform better with 'Applause', the song is growing so much on so many people I know who aren't even casual Gaga fans. And like the lyric in the song "crash the critic..." and the sarcastic promo video she's released deeming she's over, she's obviously got a few major tricks up her sleeve to turn things around! :cheer:
