It's coming out soon. During or maybe even after the Olympics.

Do you have this on authority?

No, but it is stated as coming soon in the New Releases Thread.

So you told us an information that is in the release schedule thread anyway and doesn't give us new information (because the release date is not confirmed yet)? Unnecessary posting. Please post only informations that are new to us, otherwise these posts are only spam posts.

It's already released... just not on iTunes, that was my point. I haven't checked everywhere but Amazon definitely have it available to buy, it just doesn't make commercial sense to not release it to iTunes at the same time as they'll be missing out on the sales period when most people are likely to buy it.

 03 Maroon 5 feat Wiz Khalifa - Payphone

 04 Conor Maynard - Vegas Girl

Last the rapid descent begin!

Mr Brightside  #32 Could well be top 40 tomorrow unless the combined Now versions push it out.

Such a brilliant song... I'm hoping Runaways will be suspenseful too.

Oh no, not another incident where the Irish Chart get the release first?

Incident? The regular release day in Ireland is always a Friday, has been for decades.

No, the fact is the gap between Britain and Irish releases. 9 days!

That's common aswell. Ireland get a lot of songs on air, on sale, so often the gap is even much more than 9 days. Plus the fact that every other country in the world usually gets songs 2-3 months before us, so 9 days is quite a small gap.

Also, Conor Maynard down to #5, and Arctic Monkeys up to #19.

Ireland get plenty of new releases before the UK. Why this is I really don't know. I used to think it was because the euro is their currency but that seems just too far fetched to be true. Then again, there's less emphasis on the Irish charts, than the UK charts. Ie; to be no. 1 in the UK is considered an achievement (artificial in some cases) whereas a no. 1 single in Ireland isn't considered anywhere near as important.

So maybe songs are released earlier in Ireland because it doesn't matter the song peaks. Whereas the UK is all about the elusive #1 spot - especially since they started giving awards to record companies artists who get there. That gives record companies all the more reason to hold back new releases.

Why exactly does a song's release in Ireland effect you?

Thanks Dandy, I did wonder why there was all the fuss about the release date and then it wasn't on iTunes.

I didn't see it on Amazon last night

Olympics not having as much of an effect as I thought, there are quite a few songs boosted but they're lower down. I definitely expected a few more in the top 40 than there are at the moment. I suppose the official songs being played a lot over events and such will keep them rising throughout the Games though.

Actually, just looking now:

Don't Me Up  4

Vegas Girl  5

Both versions of Call Me Maybe (The orginal EP and Now 82 versions) are in the top 30

Calibian's Dream (from last night's opening cermony) is also in the top 30. The pre-show song I Heard Wonders is closing in on the top 40 now.

Gotye is in the top 30 now, hopefully will be out of the top 40 next week!

I'll finish with bad news, Heatwave has a fake version, and it's in the top 100!
