I was going to enter it (as you know) but I'm not interested in being here at 7 just to confirm... I'll find something else!

I hope no one sends the xx, as most of us are already familiar with the track....?

God forbid. They fall into the same category as Crystal Castles and The Killers now I guess.

I probably won't make it in time and will lose what will be my favourite entry, about to have tea!

I don't think I'm even in a confirmation battle now but still nervous about my entry.

I'm pretty sure I am so I'm sending my backup at the same time :lol:

I'm hoping LUCK is on my side this time, I doubt anyone will be after my backup though and I love it just as much.

I conciously SOMETIMES try to find something to love enough to send that's a bit different, because I sort of don't want expressed that "Ooh, that type of song won, so I MUST send that now to get a good result!"

 

Does that explain anything regarding this years winning entries?

 

Maybe I'm just overthinking it, I don't know, but.. it might be easy to be influnced in sending the last winning song-type, especially if you want a qualification after so long. At all. Or a hit. Either way; everyone should know by know that we should all just send what we love the most which is still withing the spirit of the competition ^_^

I tried it once and it backfired beautifully on me. :D

 

The month I entered Gotye, we had probably the most "pop" top 5 on the final scoreboard with a semi average winner in Jessica Mauboy. So having realised that pure pop was popular that month, I went from sending Gotye to sending Andre Ola. :lol: I knew the song was tacky as hell and I really should've just gone with 'I Follow Rivers' (still bitter about this :( ) and I got my first DNQ.

 

Since then, I've just entered a song I really like. Unless it's already been taken ('Colours', 'Run Boy Run') in which case I have had to find an alternative which has always ended up being a dance track. :lol: ('Take Me Higher' which was my third choice, and 'In My Mind' which actually was my first choice before I discovered 'Run Boy Run' and wanted to change my entry).
