July 25, 201214 yr Radio 1 playlisted SO many songs 15 years ago. I don't know what music fan would have been annoyed with their genres being snubbed at the time!
July 25, 201214 yr Author Nowadays they talk too much  There was a significant decrease in the number of songs on the playlist in 1998, and then again during the mid 2000s.
July 25, 201214 yr Ooh, quite a bit to love on the retro here. A List Edwyn Collins - The Magic Piper Embrace - One Big Family (Perfecto Mix) The Levellers - What A Beautiful Day Lil’ Kim - Not Tonight Morrissey - Alma Matters (Morrissey was still getting playlisted on Radio 1 in 1997??) Oasis - D’ You Know What I Mean - EP Prodigy - Narayan Seahorses - Blinded By The Sun * Suede - Filmstar    Texas - Black Eyed Boy U2 - Last Night On Earth Robbie Williams - Lazy Days B List Meredith Brooks - Bitch (and NOT Alanis Morresette) Gene - Speak To Me Someone * Geneva - Best Regrets  Massive Attack - Risingson No Doubt - Just A Girl Portishead - Cowboys Sash - Feat. Rodriguez-Ecuador * Travis - Tied To The 90’s Paul Weller - Brushed (didn't realise Weller was still getting playlisted by then either) C List Delirious - Promise (not a fan, but surprised they were ever play listed. Didn't think they'd playlist Christian rock) Spiritualised - Electricity
July 25, 201214 yr Little Mix not being snubbed. :D Nice addition for Justin too but the less said about Fazer & Dizzee..
July 25, 201214 yr Seems so weird that Radio 1 were playlisting Peter Andre, Paul Weller etc in '97. Great playlist though with something for everyone on it - proves why '97 was such a good year for music! Are there anymore playlists around from 97/98? Edited July 25, 201214 yr by robbied
July 25, 201214 yr Great to see Little Mix play listed  "Wings" is really catchy and deserves #1! It would be nice if Karmin got play listed too :( Also great to see TEED on the C list, even if that's song's been around since December 2010
July 25, 201214 yr Yay for Ben Howard, Muse, Porter Robinson (heard this yesterday and absolutely adored it, hit please) and Rita Ora moving up to the A-List and Angel and Jessie Ware moving up to the B-List :D Interested to hear this new Dizzee song, it's for the Olympics so I imagine it'll likely be a cheesy mess like 'Shout' (as much as I liked that :kink:) but I'm hoping it'll be a return to his earlier sound, after all Muse's Olympics song is extremely uncommercial. Who is this 'Pepper' that features on it? Radio 1 getting behind Fazer, I kinda hope he does get to #1 just so he's equal with Dappy and Tulisa going to #1 with his debut solo single after N-Dubz didn't manage any #1s (apart from as a featured act and even then that was just Dappy). Nice to see Rustie getting support as well, this song isn't as good as the fantastic 'Surph' but I really hope it can become a hit for him. And ESPECIALLY great to see 'Household Goods' playlisted, I heard it ages ago so it's a little bit old for me now but it's amazing  Be a hit PLEASE! (I've said that about 3 dance songs in this one post now, didn't do that on purpose :kink:) Simple Plan still exist? And they've done a song with Sean Paul? And it's actually getting Radio 1 support? What. Edited July 25, 201214 yr by Bré

Who is this 'Pepper' that features on it? I'm assuming that she is the artist who had a top 10 hit as a duo with 'Pepper & Piano' thanks to Must Be The Music. She went solo a few months ago so I assume this came from it. Edited July 25, 201214 yr by Brett-Butler
July 25, 201214 yr Oh Lordy, North and South on the C-list in 1997! 'Tarantino's New Star' was an amazing song though...good times!
July 25, 201214 yr Ugh, they're supporting that Fazer THING?! :puke: on the bright side, its great to see Bastille playlisted, I don't like Bad Blood as much as Overjoyed, but anything that brings them into public eye is fine by me :D
July 25, 201214 yr Wow Peter Andre had a A list from Radio 1 in 1997 and its not mysterious girl  I hope Wiley's A list is a good sign he deserves a solo number 1.
July 25, 201214 yr Simple Plan still exist? And they've done a song with Sean Paul? And it's actually getting Radio 1 support? What. And there's a fake version of it at #226  Really hoping they playlist Little Talks soon :(. I think it could be a Pumped Up Kicks-type hit if it gets a chance

Ooh, so Must Be The Music has kind of given someone an extended career after all! (If you're right anyway).
July 25, 201214 yr Little Mix, Rita and Jessie Ware yay :D Wildest Moments for at least top 40 peak plzz. Shame that mess of a 'song' Fazer is trying to get away with is being supported though, I had hoped it would be snubbed and totally flop -_- Simple Plan still exist? And they've done a song with Sean Paul? And it's actually getting Radio 1 support? What. It's really bad, it reminds me of something Train might do nowadays (although I actually like them), blatant attempt at jumping on the hype I think. They are collaborated with NATASHA BEDINGFIELD recently, they're getting all the big names you know. Oh and it is 'that' Pepper from Pepper & Piano of You Took My Heart fame, Dizzee has been working with her since Must Be The Music I think and she is now his protegee, so he might feature on some of her solo stuff too.
