I really hope Calvin can get to #1! Not least after his run of #2s, but because it is much much better than Heatwave!

I'm hoping for Heatwave to get to #1 as it's completely unexpected that I love it and it sounds a bit different to most of the chart, whereas Calvin has the weakest of his four singles imo and I don't want it to be the only one that reaches #1, despite me liking it.

The chorus of Wiley's song really reminds me of songs like All Over the World by Ola, Release Me and Need You Now by Agnes, Be Without You by Mary J Blige, Firework by Katy Perry, Call Me Maybe, etc. As in it's a dance-pop song with the anthemic chorus with strings.

I don't think it will, since it's been on iTunes for quite a while now, and has not got in the top 100. Although I imagine it'll climb this week at least. I find Timbaland's part really catchy. :lol:

Oh yes, I'm a fan of Amnesia! :D Like Eric says though, it's already been hanging around the low top 200 - hopefully it can climb up to the top 75!

Well, I was basically just listing dance-pop songs with string choruses, but yeah. :lol: I think the ones that do it best are Be Without You and Number 1. Number 1 is just so catchy, and Be Without You is so classy, uplifting, and sounds incredible on a sunny day.

 

For Heatwave, I much prefer the verses to the chorus, and I wish the whole song was like the verses tbh.

 

This week is going to be a bit bittersweet for me though, as from that release schedule, I like ASAP Rocky, Caspa, Rude Kid, but their songs probably won't do well. :( I've heard all the songs on Radio 1Xtra a lot, so maybe if Radio 1 has been playing them as much they might chart, but I doubt that.
