Alicia's new album is named Girl On Fire!

 

We've already heard New Day, which indicates a new direction:

 

Can't wait, her albums have all been good so far (especially The Element Of Freedom) and she's been away far too long, new sound should be interesting too!

I've put 'The Element of Freedom' in my CD player again today and it's better than I always thought it was. The three highlights are (& have always been) 'Love Is Blind' (she should use her voice more like she used it on this track), 'Unthinkable' and 'Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart'. At the time the album came out one of my friends was in a long-distance relationship (which ultimately didn't work out) so 'Distance and Time' takes me back to that again. Love personal feelings like that attached to songs.

I'm also in love with the line 'Beautiful morning, please don't wake me from my sleep' and the way she delivers that.

'Distance & Time' is lovely! I really, really love that track. I also (obviously) love 'Try Sleeping...' a lot still. 'The Element of Freedom' is pretty much a very near, perfect album for me. It's stunning from start to finish. I don't think I skip a track! (It's been a while since I listened to it all).

The Element of Freedom is a fabulous album. I agree about Unthinkable (I'm Ready), and Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart is essentially the song that made me be interested in her. Love Is Blind is also great, not typical Alicia and very edgy.

Amazing. I love the AK font (and the fact that she's not even put her name on there!) In fact, both fonts are great. Hopefully more of the "Try Sleeping" sound, but The Element of Freedom was a beautiful album on the whole anyway! This reminds me that I've still not listened to "New Day"...oops!

That's an official remix, the single version is sent to radio and released to iTunes (US only I presume) tomorrow.

 

Really like it so far, not as different as I expected though. It does sound like a grower however!

Like the sound of it so far, the verses seem a little..I don't know something about them doesn't fit quite right. The same with Nickis rap it feels out of place but thankfully that wont be on the main version.

That's very good! Not too different from what we were hearing on The Element of Freedom, but it's great to hear some sort of single from her anyway. I love that the drums play a decent part in the song, after their usage on "Try Sleeping" etc. I'm very excited to hear the final thing now!

It just sounds exactly the same really, the differences aren't noticeable. I really like the song but truth be told I expected more from new Alicia...
