Aah thanks.... for some reason I thought he had the Kylie style chart runs where she usually falls by a few places in the 2nd week. She's rarely had a song post PWL that's stayed in the same position or climbed!

What's PWL?

What's PWL?

A record label (Pete Waterman Ltd) he means anything post 1992. Though of course chart climbers in general became less frequent after that time.

Looking at your chart runs thread in the Kylie forum (which is wonderful), I'd say a lot of her singles qualify. 'Love At First Sight': 2-8, 'In Your Eyes': 3-7, 'Slow': 1-4, 'Chocolate': 6-18.

Why thank you! :kink:

And yeah, I know what you mean, but then again, the majority of songs in the early 00's were quite front-loaded and had similar chart runs.

did u listen to the 'American Life' album? or '4 Minutes' :puke2: ???

I actually liked 4minutes :surrender: and it did have 4weeks at number one, so evidently I'm not alone!

(We don't have a surrendery-type white flag waving smilie? )

Midweek singles update: Wiley still holding off Calvin Harris

Source: MW

Wiley’s Heatwave is looking good for a second week at No.1 in the Official Singles Chart on Sunday.

According to an Official Charts Company Midweek update, the East London grime star’s Heatwave is leading over Calvin Harris Ft Example’s We’ll Be Coming Back (2). Both tracks sold over 100,000 copies upon their release last week.

The Midweek singles chart’s highest new entry comes from four-piece pop rockers Lawson who are looking on track to claim their second Top 5 single of the year.

Taking Over Me (3) is the follow up to debut single When She Was Mine which peaked at Number 4 earlier this summer, and will provide the band with their highest charting single to date if they can hold on to their midweek Number 3 position through until Sunday.

Redlight, who debuted on the Official Chart in January with the Top 20 dancefloor tune Get Out Of My Head, are back with new single Lost In Your Love at Number 5.

Elsewhere, Dizzee Rascal FT Pepper’s Scream is new in at 23, and Icelandic indie folk outfit, Of Monsters And Men are on course to score their first Official Chart Top 40 position with Little Talks.

Brit pop icons Blur are today’s Official Chart Update highest climbers, as Under The Westway climbs 89 places to Number 28. The band are due to close the BT London Live Olympic festival site in Hyde Park this weekend.?

Midweek albums: Plan B back at No.1

Source: MW

Plan B’s Ill Manors is leading a tight albums race, having disloged Conor Maynard at the top of the Midweek chart update.

Maynard’s Contrast today slips into fifth place, behind Emeli Sande’s Our Version Of Events (Number 2), Maroon 5’s Overexposed (3) and Rihanna’s Talk That Talk (4).

However, less than 600 copies separating the Number 5 and the Number 1 album at the mid-way stage.

There is just one new entry in today’s Official Albums Chart Update Top 40, courtesy of Antony And The Johnsons. The band’s new live album, Cut The World, which was recorded in Copenhagen last September accompanied by the Danish National Chamber Orchestra, looks set to debut at Number 27 on Sunday.

This week’s highest climber is Paloma Faith’s Fall To Grace, up ten places from Number 16 to Number 6, while signature Olympics soundtrack Chariots Of Fire helps composer Vangelis’ Greatest Hits album, The Collection, climb eight places to re-enter the Top 40 at Number 38.

Rihanna doesn't rely on a fanbase though, everyone seems to buy her songs! :P

Rihanna is very much of the download age though - not an old fashioned fanbase pop star - i mean kylie and madge etc!

Blur are back in the top 40 - how many vinyls of Under the Westway was released??

If Talk That Talk makes it back up to #1 I'd freak out. :w00t:

Hoping for a top 30 place for Little Talks by Sunday. The best track in the top 40 atm.

Little Talks will hopefully climb when it gets greater radio airplay in the comming weeks, its impact date wasnt supposed to be until late august!
Ideally i would be satisfied with Maroon 5 at number 1 on the album chart on Sunday with sales been ever so close, if not Emeli Sande would also be good.
^^ That's because 'Under The Sun' isn't in the Top 40 update, it was Call My Name at #34.

How fantastic it is to see Keane climbing again in the top 20 as so with Amy MacDonald, both very solid albums. One Direction also back in the top 20,up all night certainly has longeivity, additionally Olly Murs still staying firm within the top 40.

A big drop for Rick Ross down 29 positions, every week lately a high debut album has plummeted like a stone in week 2.

5th consecutive week at #7 for Rudimental! Crazy! So many climbs on the album chart – I bet most of them won’t have sales increases though. Still, fantastic to see Paloma Faith jump 10 places to #6, Train re-peaking again, and climbs for Nicki Minaj, Keane, and Amy Macdonald. Would be nice to see Lana Del Rey return to the Top 10.
My predictions for the Top 10 Albums:

1 Conor Maynard

2 Emeli Sande

3 Plan B

4 Maroon 5

5 Adele

6 Delilah

7 Ed Sheeran

8 Rihanna

9 Train

10 Mike Oldfield

So I was correct about Emeli Sande, Ed Sheeran, and Mike Oldfield! :D

Oh dear. I can see Conor Maynard's album selling about 8k this week after selling 14k on its first week and if there is only 600 copies between Conor and the #1, there is a strong possibility that Plan B will be at #1 with under 10k. Diabolical times for albums, and I think this week will be memorable for all the wrong reasons.
