it's a real shame since MDNA is one of her best albums ever... the lead single was average but 'Girl Gone Wild' and 'Turn up the radio' are two of her best singles since 'Hung up', it's bad that Madonna's new singles are struggling to reach the top 75 while there is so many crapp in the UK chart these past few years :puke2: ... that just shows how much the download chart have hurt older artists...

GGW is great, and it's a damn shame that didn't perform better than it did, but TUTR is the blandest, most uninspired piece of trash she's probably ever released.

Her and her team are more focused on making money touring, as thats where the money is not promoting singles which is a shame.

Anyway she's had more chart success than the latest set of "pop stars" will ever have.

right, she's reach a status in a career where she doesn't need to promote on TV like other artists do... she doesn't need that exposure, she already has her zillions of fans...

Zillions of fans that can only get her to #83 in the midweeks. I think she does need to promote on TV.

200 copies separating Wiley an Calvin? It's the same as last week

Madonna #83, still higher than I thought she could finish tbh but she will drop imo til Sunday.

Like I said, I'm pretty sure that tweet is just a randomer copying old Example tweets, I wouldn't count that as a reliable source...

You might be right plus Tuesday mids are always vague ;)

4 Minutes did amazing on downloads all over the world (even in the US), so I don't think that's the reason. I think it's just lack of radio airplay this time tbh. She needs the support from Radio 1 and Capital, but she's not getting it anymore.

I agree with this. 4 Minutes was number 1 on iTunes. Bad promotion and a very bad choice for first single hurts the most.

Wiley "200 copies ahead"

Have i gone back in time to last week?

I'm surprised Calvin's still at #2. Isn't he famed for having Kylie style falls in the 2nd week?

Kylie style falls? I've never heard anyone use that phrase before! :P

I'm not sure what you mean by 'Kylie style falls' but no, Calvin doesn't normally fall very much in his second week at all. Of the Calvin singles that have entered at their peaks:

I'm Not Alone 1-1

Ready For The Weekend 3-4

Bounce 2-3

Feel So Close 2-5

Let's Go 2-6

Kylie was known for being very frontloaded, non? I don't have many concrete examples but I know she generally was, back in the early 2000s at least. But then, loads of people were that frontloaded back then anyway.

Aah thanks.... for some reason I thought he had the Kylie style chart runs where she usually falls by a few places in the 2nd week. She's rarely had a song post PWL that's stayed in the same position or climbed!

There was On a Night Like This which fell 2-11, but that's about it really.

Looking at your chart runs thread in the Kylie forum (which is wonderful), I'd say a lot of her singles qualify. 'Love At First Sight': 2-8, 'In Your Eyes': 3-7, 'Slow': 1-4, 'Chocolate': 6-18, I could go on a bit. Obviously not all of them started off as high as Calvin's singles usually do and Kylie has her fair share of songs that had decent longevity but I'd say she had a tendency to be quite frontloaded for sure.
