Kate bush needs to get over herself its not like she;s been smashing it decade after decade like madonna for example. Todays kids dont even know who she is nor do they care.

Lol, oh look who's #4 on iTunes right now... :D

It's her decision not to perform or not, she doesn't give a toss whether she peaks at #4 or #44 with this remix, she's one in it for the music which is why she's notoriously private and doesn't want to get caught up in celebrity like a lot of fame seeking celebrities.

Yep. Her and Sia are annoyingly reclusive like that.

Kate Bush sells on the back of music not fame or personality etc. Enya and Kate Bush are quiet alike, they dont play the fame game at all but concentrate on the music, they are very successful artists so why should they change what they are happy and comfortable with doing.

what is that in answer or in reaction to?

Kate Bush is probably one of the most inoffensive artists out there because she doesn't shove herself in everyone's face all the time. She actually keeps her private life private and probably imagined showing up for the ceremony would result in hours of having to see Jessie J make a tit out of herself because she is the exact opposite of Kate Bush.

Given the brashness and uselessness of Jessie J/Spice Girls/Tinie Tempa etc she made the right decision to turn it down. Although, Annie Lennox managed to pull it of without losing any dignity.

Annie Lennox is pure class, she just fits into anything and makes it hers!

Kate would just look so out of place at the Olympics anywho and as Tony said, it's better that she didn't.

Seems like the Olympic effect is fading

03. Emeli Sande - Read All About It (At least it managed to peak at #02)

14. Muse - Survival

16. Ed Sheeran - Wish You Were Here

19. Justin Bieber - As Long As You Love Me

20. Cheryl - Under The Sun (This should go top 10 next week maybe?)

23. Oasis - Wonderwall

25. One Direction - What Makes You Beautiful

28. Ryan O'Shaughnessy - No Name (Looks Like this will go top 40 afterall)

33. Aiden Grimshaw - Curtain Call

69. Spice Girls - Spice Up Your Life

Expecting massive drops next week for Conor Maynard - Vegas Girl, David Guetta - I Can Only Imagine, Misha B - Home Run, Far East Movement/Coverdrive - Turn Up The Love & Nicki Minaj - Starships.

Elbow are decreasing at a comical rate now.

I wouldn't say there decreasing at a comical rate? It's hardly went from #03-08 in the last day, It's still at #06 on iTunes and it has no radio airplay, just the song being on the Olympics. All tracks from the olympics are decreasing, I hope Elbow manage to remain top 10 come Sunday though.

I think Emeli will be able to stay for 2 or 3 weeks in the top 10, but the rest will be gone by the end of the week I think! It'll be a very different-looking top 10 though, with Nicki possibly top 5 and Cheryl very close to top 10!
I'm surprised Muse made it that high. It's hardly a catchy number and accessible after one listen.

Thank the Lord I wasn't the only one who thought they were all entirely average at best. Jessie J is so desperate when she performs. Yes we know you can go up and down the scale Love. no need to turn every note into 10! Yawn..

12. Nicki Minaj - Pound The Alarm

19. Cheryl - Under The Sun

25. Ryan O' Shaughnessy - No Name

39. Taio Cruz - Dynamite

49. Take That - Rule The World

Gotye, might actually drop out the top 40 this week :cheer:

It's called "Melisma" fact fans (turning one note into a multitude of them) one of the most famous examples being Whitney's IWALY, but I agree her vocal "technique" is DRAINING to say the least. :(

I wasn't expecting Cheryl to climb that much so soon :o She did a 5 min interview on Daybreak this morning, so this is probably why.

Ha thanks I'll remember that :) On a positive note nice to see a bit of Liam Gallagher at the ceremony and Wonderwall being back. Almost made up for the disaster that was Paul McCartney at the Opening Ceremony LOL. Talk about ruin a good show.
