The scrobbler has to change song for it to recognise something else is being played, if Song A starts again as soon as it's finished there's no trigger for it to notice.

 

Edit: which is odd because what you've actually said is the complete opposite to what's happened on mine. If I play a song 4 times running from my iPod, when I sync it updates the play count by four and will add four scrobbles. If I play a song four times in succession from my laptop it will only scrobble once.

This other time I played a song ('T' <3 ) on repeat for like 10 times and all of them got scrobbled when I got home! A part of me thinks there's a randomizer function running deciding whether to scrobble a song you play on repeat or not.

I might get a last.fm account actually! It sounds fun. ^_^

Well I reinstalled it and it no longer shuts down iTunes whenever I insert a CD, yay!

 

However it is refusing to scrobble anything, distinctly less yay.

Although I listen to the majority of my music on CD Players now, so the scrobbling hasn't been too consistant.

I am so sad.

 

Everything I listen to is scrobbled.

I use zenses to scrobble my creative zen and if I'm listening to CD's I scrobble them through winamp after I've listened to them. Major geekiness.

I do the first bit too. I'll often make a playlist in Windows Media Player and play them on mute, that way my iTunes play counts are safe from being skewed in the process. I didn't realise this addiction was so common!
