It's weird that Elbow haven't had another top 75 hit since this (but 'Open Arms' will get there this week, so it's like a follow-up hit purposely waited 4 years for 'One Day Like This' to peak before surfacing ) It is brilliant to see this finally getting a more representative peak as #35 was more than a bit ridiculous. I'm sure this was the highest selling non-top 30 hit of all time before - what will take that now? Maybe Mumford & Sons' 'The Cave'?

This list is missing 'Daydreamer' (Flux Pavilion feat. Example, #39 earlier this year).

It's also missing Game Over by Tinchy Stryder, which got to #22 in 2010.

I'm in two minds about Elbow going top 10 at last, its obviously great and finally justifiable of its true popularity, but it was so interesting how it was a constant presence around the 35-40 region without ever getting higher :P [/geek]

This remains incredible, as if it needed saying, one of my all time favourites.

Asleep In The Back is the 2nd best Elbow track - this randomly top 10 one day please

There is a track called "Shame" by Evelyn Champagne King which was released in 1978 and peaked at No 39 despite spending 23 wks on the chart, reportedly selling in excess of 250-300k depending on sources- I think that may have it.

The verses were the only thing I even vaguely liked about the original 'Read All About It' and the verses on Pt. III are just dull. So yeah. Not a fan of this at all. I imagine it'll stick around for months and sell close to if not more than the original sold now, even if they don't formally make it a single.

What on earth for?

Well, Rita Ora has had a pretty good start to her chart career

Ooh, yeah that's probably it. I haven't asked vidcapper for a while but I think 'The Cave' was at around 200k the last time I asked, since which it hasn't charted again so it won't have overtaken that. Might have to ask again though :P

I do like Read All About It Pt III but it's one of the least good on the album. She deserves more hits though so I will accept that if it has to be this song that becomes successful, then so be it.

I STILL don't get the appeal of How We Do. It sounds like something Pixie Lott would release and would be lucky to get into the Top 10 with.

Shes flavour of the month so she gets to no1 with her increasing fanbase, massively held back release and a decent catchy pop song with massive video and radio airplay!
