Posted September 14, 201212 yr Exclusive: I think I can confirm for you what I said some months ago–Adele is performing the theme song for “Skyfall,” the 23rd James Bond movie. As far as I know the song is called “Skyfall.” I think if anyone else had sung the theme song this year it wouldn’t have made sense. Adele’s sound is the quintessential James Bond sound. She joins Shirley Bassey, Paul McCartney, Carly Simon, Rita Coolidge, John Barry, Duran Duran and others on the long list of pop stars who’ve immortalized James Bond in song. “Skyfall” will be Adele’s first new single since her album “21″ sold 7 billion copies in 13 different galaxies. The movie opens in London the last week of October, right when Adele will give birth to a baby, as well. The good news is, this should be an actual song with a melody and a hook, unlike recent tortures. More to come on this breaking news… http://www.showbiz411.com/2012/09/13/confi...nd-skyfall-song ---- SO EXCITED :w00t: It will surely be an epic track, I don't even give two shits about Bond films but new Adele >>>>>>
September 14, 201212 yr “Skyfall” will be Adele’s first new single since her album “21″ sold 7 billion copies in 13 different galaxies. SO excited though, much more than hearing the previous two themes. I would LOVE for it to become the first Bond theme to reach number one, or at least become the best-selling (over 500k, basically).
September 14, 201212 yr I was kinda hoping the rumours of Lana Del Rey getting it were true :( Adele is a worthy replacement but Lana on James Bond is the definition of a missed opportunity. Still, I'm excited for new Adele, and very interested to see what this sounds like. Edited September 14, 201212 yr by Umi

Still, I'm excited for new Adele, and very interested to see what this sounds like. Lana Del Rey was rumoured to sing it? :o That would have been brilliant too! Hopefully she is still successful in 2014 when the next Bond film comes out (hopefully in 2014, it is when they predict they'll release Bond 24 as long as there is no more money problems.)
September 14, 201212 yr Amazing! I can't wait to hear her voice again - I'm sure it'll be #1, but even if it won't it MUST be epic. I don't think the title should be taken for granted - the past two Bond themes haven't been their respective films' titles.
September 14, 201212 yr I thought this was denied a while ago? Really hope this does happen though, she'd be perfect for a Bond theme.
September 15, 201212 yr If this is happening it will be a big hit i think plus 21 will start flying up the charts again.
September 26, 201212 yr Exclusive: Lyrics for Adele’s First New Song Since “21″– James Bond “Let the Skyfall” Source: Showbizz 411 by Roger Friedman Exclusive: Adele’s theme song for the new James Bond film, “Skyfall,” written by Adele and a collaborator (probably Paul Epworth), is classic 007 in the manner of the best Bond songs of the past. It’s an ominous, dramatic ballad, with lots of gorgeous horn flourishes peeking out through Adele’s now trademark vocals. It’s also fresh, new, and original. Thanks to record industry sources, I got to hear a bit of the song. Readers of this column know we already broke the story of Adele singing the “Skyfall” theme a couple of times. Part of the chorus of the song goes: “Let the sky fall/Let it crumble/We will stand tall/And face it all/together.” The introductory lines, which follow a piano solo, are: “This is the end/Hold your breath and count to ten/Feel the Earth move and then/Hear my heart burst again.” Adele and Sony Music are set to launch the single during the first week of October. It’s the singer’s first new song since her “21″ album debuted in January 2010. It’s unknown still how Sony will package “Let the Sky Fall” as a one off single since I don’t think Adele has recorded anything else to go with it. There is a “Skyfall” soundtrack score album scheduled from Sony for release on November 6th, but no information is available about tracks. My sense, though, is that the single will hit #1 everywhere and pretty fast, and stay atop the charts for several weeks. It recalls the best kind of Bond hits by female vocalists like Carly Simon, Shirley Bassey, Tina Turner, Sheena Easton, and Rita Coolidge. Unlike more recent failed efforts by Madonna, and by Alicia Keys and Jack White, the song is tremendously catchy with a real sense of mystery. One good thing: we’ll have Adele singing “Skyfall” at the Oscars next February. It’s a cinch for a Best Song nomination. =========== It might be released from next week :w00t: I say #1 for at least 4 weeks :D I was going to add a poll but I think its guaranteed to go to #1, whatever it sounds like. Could this be the biggest selling single of 2012?
September 26, 201212 yr Another possible million seller for this year? Hopefully! But we'll have to see what it sounds like first.
September 26, 201212 yr Has any Bond theme gone to #1 in the UK? Thanks to '19' & '21' Adele must have a fanbase 10 times that of One Direction, so I would be ROFLMFAO if she denied OD a #1 next week!
September 26, 201212 yr How's that something to laugh at then if you're so sure how it's going to be? The Bond song could sound very uncommercial, but given it's Adele I doubt that. Edited September 26, 201212 yr by SKOB
September 26, 201212 yr Has any Bond theme gone to #1 in the UK? Just counsulted my Bond bible :teresa: No, the highest was A View To A Kill (1985) by Duran Duran, peaked at #2
September 26, 201212 yr I have high hopes for this! Oops at this mistake: It’s the singer’s first new song since her “21″ album debuted in January 2010.
September 26, 201212 yr This could get an OA/OS release next week then - im pretty sure Another way to die by Jack White and Alicia Keys was - so it climbed to no18. Great competion to look forward to in the next weeks - Adele, Rihanna, 1D and Robbie Williams!!
September 26, 201212 yr Can't wait to hear this! Hope it's got that epic feel that Set Fire To The Rain has.
September 26, 201212 yr Why does everything think this is a sure fire number 1 when no one has heard it and a 007 song has never gone number 1 before. It will make top 10 probably.
September 26, 201212 yr This is the very site that confirmed that Adele would be singing the theme. I sincerely hope she is but there still hasn't been any official confirmation. If she isn't, that would be quite a shock, I assume.

But anyway, this is surely an inevitable #1. I just hope it's really good and not the "Set Fire To The Rain" rehash the lyrics suggest.
September 26, 201212 yr I hate the writer of this article, everything he writes is anti Madonna, Die Another Day was most successful bond tune since View to a Kill.
