What do you mean? They should definitely release another single on here, I'm sure they could get another big hit. But I just can't understand why they're not pushing One More Night over here.

I think that is their next single in the UK. Their video was a "brand new video" on The Box and I have seen it on other music channels as well this week.

I really dont see Ellie being as big a contender as people think. Her hype seems to be non-existant outside of the internet/buzzjack. I keep forgetting she actually has a new song. She'll do well (top 5) but wont be a threat to 1D. I will be surprised if Rihanna even manages to stop 1D. There is no other winner next week.

Agreed. I think hype is just about beginning to pick up for the track but the EP has been unable to even break the top 100 on the albums chart bar one brief appearance - for an act with a fairly solid fanbase that's poor. I'm expecting her to scrape in at like #8 and hopefully have some sort of longevity. She doesn't seem to have like any promotion planned over here though. It feels like she's promoting everywhere except the UK, which is just ridiculous for her.

ISTM that OD, Ellie, Adele & RiRi will all sell at least 80k next week!
Is there any reason you expect Ellie to be big though? I've literally seen no argument with any more thought put into it than "cuz its ellie duh".
Whoever said Tulisa will pick up again is definatley wrong, because promotion for the Honest book will not do anything to her 2 solo hits.

I'd be gobsmacked if Ellie Goulding sold anywhere near 80k. Just because 'Lights' got to no. 2 in the US doesn't mean Ellie has suddenly become more popular in the UK.

Likewise The Wanted made the top 5 in the US with 'Glad You Came' but that didn't boost their profile when 'Chasing The Sun' was released here.

Rihanna, however, is the new Queen of Pop. It's like the success Madonna was enjoying in the mid 80s.

It was a joke ;)

Because it's played loads on the radio? :P Seriously, there hasn't been a day in the last two weeks where I haven't heard it on the radio. Radio 1 play it loads, Capital play it loads, and Radio 2 play it sometimes as well. Ellie is going to do well (Top 5) and there's no need to underestimate her.

Another post about Tulisa? SHOCKER.

lol. do you dream about Tulisa every night?

Success in the US does seem to boost artists and songs sometimes. We Are Young and Like a G6 would've probably never became worldwide hits if they hadn't blown up in the US like they did.

But then you've got like One More Night, which we've just been discussing, which doesn't seem to be doing anything here. So you can never be sure.

I thought Wonder was out Sunday as well.

It was pushed back.

Is it even confirmed that Adele IS releasing next week?

I too have heard it every day on the radio the past couple of weeks but there are songs that get played loads on the radio that don't become big hits. I think Ellie will go top 10 and could go top 5 but no better, I don't think the track is as commercial as some of her past stuff and the US success won't help because I haven't heard anything about that in the media over here like I did with 1D. I'm expecting her album to be bigger.

Otto Knows up to #15 (ok that was already known), but it's still increasing. Can it be a slow burner and a sleeper hit? :cheer:

PS: Jáhq, your sig is absolutely fantastic!

Is that the single now? I'm wondering if they should even bother with one over here.

Bray agrees. :kink:

Va Va Voom  #25 - definite top 40 contender this week then! It's feels like a completely different artist after Starships and Pound The Alarm
We all know Harry likes it up the bum  (in reference to your sig)

Speak for yourself, I had no idea.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm still shocked she didn't use Whip It, it's too good to be true! Va Va Voom is so much better though, hopefully it goes top 10.

Minus the 'wondering' part. They should definitely not bother. While they're at it they shouldn't bother releasing their next album here either
