+ Sales are low right now. Rihanna might have trouble beating 1D but I wouldn't be surprised to see her beat PSY this week were she to release at midnight.

As someone above said, 2pm on Wednesday? I think Rihanna may get #1. She has enough fans to probably sell 70-80k at least. It depends on how well PSY manages to sell and I can't see it selling loads.

Looks like I'll be adding it at #1 in the Prediction Game (but adding at #11 just in case it isn't released)! :D

Rihanna's new song will definitely sell less first-week than We Found Love, if it's released on Wednesday. Because firstly, Rihanna's less popular now than she was following the Loud album, secondly, We Found Love is chart candy, made to be a massive #1, this new song doesn't sound like it will be, and thirdly, We Found Love was all over Capital FM and Radio 1 for ages before release, a fake version was even heading for the iTunes top 10. Most people probably don't know Rihanna is releasing a new song, whilst millions of people had heard We Found Love before it got released.

Rihanna . Is she releasing a new single soon?

Flo Rida  #3

Rihanna won't be going to #1 this Sunday if she releases midweek. This new song hasn't had half the hype that WFL had and it's said to be 'less dancey' than her recent songs. I think it could be a climber, Rihanna has shown that she can score a big urban hit in the past (What's My Name) so if radio support her a lot I can't see it being a massive flop even if it "only" debuts at #6 in week 1.
If Def Jam gets Rihanna an iTunes banner on wednesday, I don't see why she wouldn't be able to get to #1 this week. I can see Capital and Radio 1 hammering it from the offset. Just because it's not going to be a dance-pop song doesn't mean that it won't be incredibly radio friendly. Even when all the other singles from a Rihanna album aren't that successfull, she is basically always guaranteed a massive lead single (Russian Roulette was under different circumstances).

Yes, those radio stations were very over it to give it a huge pre-release airplay peak of #56 and post-release #34. Without a video.

I don't necessarily disagree with you, but you're massively overplaying how much exposure it had when it was released. It was much less than what One Direction will have when it comes out.

What's My Name?'s success was even more exceptional, since it was charting at the same time as Only Girl (in the US it even got to #1 before Only Girl did). I think a lot of artists since have attempted to dominate the charts like that with both a pop and urban single at the same time like Rihanna did, but that's the only instance I can think of where that actually worked tbh. I think it worked with What's My Name? since it's extremely catchy and pop-friendly, despite the urban rhythmns it uses.

Don't think this has been mentioned yet: 'She Wolf (Falling To Pieces)' is back up to #10, so not all hope lost just yet for it to go top 10. It still doesn't have a video does it? Hope they get one out pretty soon.

Fake 'Tea And Toast' up to #41 now #40, imagine if this and/or the fake 'Last Night' (#62) stay in the charts for the whole of the series or even longer until Lucy can finally re-release the proper versions :drama:

 100. The Boxer (feat. Jerry Douglas & Paul Simon) [bonus Track] - Mumford & Sons

 Love this song and a great version of it.

They were only judging it from past experience when the entire world bar the UK got an official release at the same time.

But let's hope she doesn't anyways as I NEED PSY to get #1 for at least a week.

I think Sunday would be best, although it's the same day as 1D and Ellie Goulding and I wouldn't want her to miss out to 1D or push Ellie Goulding down (which would happen), so maybe a held back release by 2/3 weeks but nothing ridiculous like 8 weeks would be best.

Connor up to #11. I can't believe he's doing this well with a post-album single.

And DJ Fresh has climbed a lot recently for some reason. This song is so much better than The Power, I'd like it to go top 10.

Nice to see the title track of Mumford & Son's 'Babel' doing well. It really needs to be the next single.

Hadn't heard their cover of The Boxer, as it wasn't on the review copy I was sent. From what I've heard, it's not too shabby.

"I Will Wait" is #11 combined I think and still increasing. Perhaps Mumford & Sons will be able to get their first top 10 hit?
Kylie's Flower in at 367 but looks like is one of those album pre-releases which is ineligible to chart

Is there any way of confirming that? There's no point me buying it early, if so.
