Eh? its OK...very underwhelmed really, I don't like her voice on this and that really annoying high pitched bridge doesn't really help. Kudos to her for trying something a bit different though.

 

I went with top 3 just to be safe, as I'm not honestly sure and I'm not expecting this to do anywhere near as well as We Found Love. #1 is likely, but certainly not instantly and definitely not ahead of One Direction...

BUt she doesn't need to be to be #1 - she could easily sell more in 3.5 days than PSY will in the week.

while Kylie's flower is a hundred times better yet it will be ignored caus she's not young and hip anymore...

I don't get it. I think that this era will be reminiscent of "Rated R" for Rihanna though and I could see this song becoming the new "Russian Roulette".

 

However, Rated R is Rihanna's third worst album (controversial!), so bad news for me.

 

I predict Top 3.

If they aren't gonna release it today, I've gone with Top 3.

 

However, if they do release it today, I think it could go to #1 this week!

They had better release it at the same time as the rest of the world. This country really has gone from the forefront of music to months behind with the record companies not adopting OA/OS.

I voted top 3, this song's nice but it doesn't have much commercial appeal aside from the fact that this is Rihanna. I can see it tiring on me after a few months whereas Only Girl and We Found Love lasted long for me. I'll be surprised if this gets to #1, I sadly think this era could be the beginning of the end for her, unless she gets out a killer dance tune before dropping the album and goes to #1 worldwide again.

I said top 3, it's not commercial like We Found Love or Only Girl but it's Rihanna so will still be a hit (just not #1). I'm not sure this era will be as sucessful as Loud/Talk Talk That Talk; though obviously the huge club banger that goes #1 could come later so we can't judge just yet.

I have to admit I wanted a ballad to be the 1st single of her new album, I am a little tired of all the up-bit songs she has been releasing lately.

It is definitely not a killer song, but it is different in an interesting way. I think they tried to make a Florence-sounding tune here but the music fails to deliver, AND please get a lyricist for the next song Rihanna :wacko:

 

It should end up top3 but will most likely miss the no1 spot if it is released against Adelle/1D

Top 3 to be safe as there's a lot of competition around, this could easily get #1 one way or another though.

If she released now, I think she'd beat PSY this week because sales a bit low compared with normal weeks. However, she'll miss out in future weeks because of other big releases.

I like it a lot. It's quite plaintive.
