Sadly, One Direction might be out of it, although only just. Ellie was not a contender for the top spot from the start. Since Adele was released on Friday, because of the big sales, she may only just miss out too. So I'm guessing the only contender that could do it is Rihanna.

 

But it will be close, I'm guessing this will be the biggest week of the year for sales, and probably the biggest this decade.

Well, Rihanna is obviously going to be #1 I think.

 

I remember a week in 2010, when Swedish House Mafia, Flo Rida, The Wanted, Travie McCoy and Magnetic Man released, where the whole top 7 sold over 50,000, so I wonder if that'll happen again this week.

It may well be the biggest of the year so far for T5 sales (I log such things as part of my YTD sales stuff), but there's no way it can match the whole-market boost of 1/3rd in the post-Xmas week!

I'd be surprised if the record company don't bring the release date forward.

 

I wonder if that means they might bring his album forward too. It's due to be released on the 10th December (meaning it will chart the week before Christmas), so it would have absolutely massive first week sales, but I would have thought they would want it closer to the release of the first single since there isn't a single in between.

Hopefully Strictly will give "I Won't Give Up" a big enough boost to stay top 10 for this week!

 

The itunes charts are going to get a lot more exciting with boosts to older songs from strictly and X-factor! :D
