October 4, 201212 yr 5 new entries for Mumford & Sons :o That's brilliant. Bit surprised to see 'The Boxer' not among them though. I see 'I Will Wait' has been hit by the Complete My Album bullshit, hopefully back in at least the top 50 next week - what are radio doing STILL ignoring it though? Their album just sold 600k in its first week, surely that should tell them something. 'The A Team' top 50 :D It's stalled once again on iTunes but it keeps doing that then suddenly shooting up another ~10 places so it could still keep going for a while. October 4, 201212 yr How is Olly out of the top 100 when he was as high as #62 on iTunes this week? Sheesh. A #96 peak for HSAB considering his promo is awful. Kinda killed the momentum of British artists doing well in the US.
October 4, 201212 yr His airplay has completely collapsed, which I guess was the killer. I am surprised he fell out all the same though.
October 4, 201212 yr HSAB must be done. Hopefully his Flo Rida single can do a lot better. I'm happy LWWY didn't debut this week on airplay alone after being on bubbling under last week, hopefully it becomes one of those special songs to debut at #1. :kink: Not getting my hopes up but top 3 should be secure.

'The A Team' top 50 :D It's stalled once again on iTunes but it keeps doing that then suddenly shooting up another ~10 places so it could still keep going for a while. Mumford & Sons have been helped in the chart by their amazing streaming: 15. I Will Wait 16. Babel 21. Whispers in the Dark 24. Holland Road 28. Ghosts That We Knew 32. Lover of the Light 35. Lover's Eyes 36. Hopeless Wanderer 39. Reminder 41. The Cave 43. Broken Crown 46. Below My Feet 49. Little Lion Man This is incredible, I've never seen an artist dominate the chart like this (only Drake came close), and some of their old songs have even charted. Also: 1. Maroon 5 - One More Night 2. PSY - Gangnam Style 3. Kanye West/Big Sean/Pusha T/2 Chainz - Mercy 7. Justin Bieber ft. Big Sean - As Long As You Love Me 8. Flo Rida - Whistle 9. Alex Clare - Too Close 12. Frank Ocean - Thinkin Bout You 18. Kanye West/Jay-Z/Big Sean - Clique 22. 2 Chainz ft. Drake - No Lie 47. 2 Chainz ft. Kanye West - Birthday Song 48. Nicki Minaj - Pound the Alarm (Ouch!) 50. Drake ft. Lil Wayne - The Motto I think pop radio will have to cave in during the next few weeks and start playing I Will Wait. They're too popular to ignore. Edited October 4, 201212 yr by Eric_Blob
October 4, 201212 yr "Madness" is now Muse's second highest peaker, overtaking "Neutron Star Collision" :D Also #1 on Alternative Songs, their third to do so. "Uprising" did it, as did "Resistance" oddly.

October 5, 201212 yr I really like Olly, I hope he can come up with something killer and get a top 40 hit. And congrats to Kesha and Rihanna on such a high entries. But can we all take a moment to remember Britney Spears and Lady Gaga both having #1 debuts... and it seeming effortless? Britney has had 6 top ten debuts since the download chart change... 3 of them debuting at #1! I think Gaga has had about 4?

Britney has had 6 top ten debuts since the download chart change... 3 of them debuting at #1! I think Gaga has had about 4? Ke$ha had a #1 debut herself as well! I think #1 debuts are much harder now the influence of sales has been reduced - sales routinely jump from nothing to hundreds of thousands but airplay and streaming build much more slowly so a bigger first sales impression is needed now. I think (although don't quote me) 'Boyfriend' would have debuted at #1 under the old system with its extremely high sales, for example. Even so though, #13 and #16 debuts aren't really anything special, although the latter has matched Rihanna's best debut as a lead artist despite the new system so that's really good for her.
October 6, 201212 yr Karmin at #62 with 'Hello'! :D This MUST get higher/match the peak of 'Brokenhearted' at LEAST.

If Heart Skips a beat wasn't a top 40 hit in thE US then I don't know what will... It's by far his catchiest song ever... Gaga only has 3 number 1 singles in the US, but now it's much harder to debut at number 1 in the BB hot 100 since airplay and streaming importance increased after the chart rules shift....
October 7, 201212 yr Karmin at #62 with 'Hello'! :D This MUST get higher/match the peak of 'Brokenhearted' at LEAST. Sadly I don't think it will... radio FLIPPED OUT when this was released (it was the biggest gainer for several days if I recall) but it never took off on iTunes/sales and radio has since cooled to it...

Yep, and even Kesha herself has debuted at #1 with 'We R Who We R'
