You're missing something - Adele's initial sales rush is now dropping off as expected, but you seem to optimistically pretend the same won't happen to SHM in the next 48 hours... but it *will*. Unless SHM overtake before it happens, you can forget any chance of #1.

Nowhere near as quickly. New releases, especially held back ones, tend to climb for a few days before tailing off. Add to that the fact that Adele's OA/OS, so she will drop more quickly given the promotion's not there yet, and the fact that she released two days earlier so she'll start tailing off sooner and I can only assume that SHM will continue to eat into her lead.

It does go to show how massive the hype behind "Born This Way" was, though.

SHM's song is epically brilliant - hope it manages to topple Adele; either way best top 2 in the singles chart from AGES!!!!!

I wouldn't say the promo isn't there iro Adele - lots of people will be going to watch the new Bond movie this week after all...

Perhaps the real issue is - how much of a sales cushion will Adele have built up if/when SHM overtakes her?

The new Bond movie that's out on the 26th? Great promo, that.

SHM now up to 0.8 and 0.08, so that's 88% plus the EP. Does anyone have any idea how much the EP adds? Looks like they're pretty close now anyway. And I suspect they will increase relative to Adele as the week goes on. I'd put them as slight favourites for this week's #1, but it will be an interesting race and a great Top 2!

 35 Faith Hill/ There You'll Be Hope this could re-enter the Top40 on Sunday. Justice for what happened last night to Carolynne.

177 Beyonce/ One Night Only (Disco Version)

391 Deena Jones & The Dreams & Jennifer Hudson/ One Night Only

Mr Rylan Clarke responsible for this. Perhaps he should try Eurovision next year for the UK.

Both much better than his not so good version of 'One Night Only'

Nice to see Leona benefiting from the Top 10 effect.

Does anyone know if she is still at No.7 when all of her versions are combined?

I'm really worried for Leona this week. Hopefully she can make top 10 at least but I doubt she will. Hopefully she can climb to at least #5 and the acoustic can go top 50 at least. Then hopefully Alan Carr will help her sustain a top 10 placing.

Her album needs to go at least top 3 for any sort of redemption. Apparently the pre-orders are really promising so let's hope so.

For the future, Leona needs to rush-release 'Glassheart' for an XF Final performance and an epic video. It's the song that could really make this campaign bigger.

As for saying Leona's career is over, that's just melodramatic and stupid. A voice like that will always be in the music industry. Just look at Sia - she wasn't even that big in the first place and now she's one of the year's most hyped artists. Leona can always be moderately successful if she just has that one song. I personally think 'Trouble' is one of her best singles but I can see what people say about the chorus. It doesn't exactly have the hook and catchiness of 'Heaven' and 'Next to Me'.

I definitely think it'll get a top 10 placing. It'll likely go as high as #5 on itunes and has 3 more versions of the song floating around the top 1000. And as you've mentioned, Alan Carr should definitely give the song another boost.

I think Leona's album will get to #1 if I'm being honest. She has a lot of promotion coming up for it and the advertising campaign has just started. I've seen the adverts for it on youtube a couple of times now and that'll likely become more frequent as the next week or so goes on. Not to mention her album pre-orders are quite large, so that should help out the album.

They should be rush-releasing the single as the filming process for the 2nd single has started this week, so I do think it's likely that she'll be on the X-factor final performing it.

I think all in all, the situation isn't as bad as what some make it out to be.

Not to be negative but there's a major difference between Sia and Leona - Sia is a (commonly used) songwriter, Leona isn't.

To be fair, he was trying to make the point of Sia not having any major international hits of her own for years and then suddenly features on lots of songs again and her name gets back out there etc.

According to the popbars on iTunes, combined, SHM are about 95% of Adele, so add in the EP sales and they're probably neck and neck, so I reckon they'll be #1 tomorrow.

Nice to see Leona up to #7. Phew.

I was dumfounded when she was still #13 last night so this is a great improvement.

Hopefully repeats of the results show, radio play and other promo will keep it going and then it'll have a nice boost from Alan Carr throughout Saturday to stop it falling too much.

I hope she has Daybreak, This Morning, Loose Women, Radio 1 etc next week to promote the album. Theres not alot of competition from new releases next week, album wise, so hopefully Glassheart can go to Number 1.

I can't believe 'Red' is still as high as #26! Promo singles are usually well out of the top 40 a week after, aren't they? :o

Ooft! Ne-Yo 'Sexy Love' is at #50 , 'Closer' at #60  and 'Beautiful Monster' at #95.

Lower down we have 'Miss Independent' #137, 'So Sick' #140 and 'Because Of You' #181!

Good week to be Ne-Yo! So pleased his XFactor performance has got people picking from his older stuff!

ALSO FAKE ALICIA :o :o

This Girl Is On Fire 'Girl On Fire' #142!! SO GOOD TO SEE :o (Currently higher than Robbie Williams' fake at #179)

Oh and sorry for the double post here, can't be arsed to edit... AGAIN

(This deserves a post on it's own...)

979. Loreen 'My Heart Is Refusing Me' (Alex P & Victory Version)

IT'S HAPPENING. *.* (As in it has at least 20 downloads!!)

Oh thank God Leona did get a boost into the top 10 in the end, I think she should have official top 10 in the bag now especially with the acoustic version also selling some (her 9th top 10 hit, must be quite weird to think of for people in other countries where she only had 1 or 2 big hits). It would have been absolutely criminal if her best single missed the top 10. And we can finally welcome Childish Gambino into the charts with a top 10 hit.

Swedish House Mafia look like they are still heading for #1 then, that's brilliant as long as 'Skyfall' can climb to #1 later. Yay at Rihanna re-overtaking PSY and especially at Ellie overtaking 1D, with her album version she should be =well ahead by the end of the week :D

 43. Latch (feat. Sam Smith) - Disclosure

Not heard this song but yes please at the prospect of Disclosure getting a hit.

'Closer' back in the top 100  Don't really care for 'Sexy Love' or 'Beautiful Monster' but fantastic to see that back.
