71. Ja Rule - Livin' It Up

 I LOVE this song, shocked to see it in the top 100. I really miss Ja Rule, he had so many good songs.

I first heard all three of those artists on urban radio stations.

I think there's certain criteria for having a Wikipedia article. One of them is getting a song that charts somewhere. There's a few other ways you can get a page aswell, like if you peform live at a notable event/festival for example. I can see why they do that, since they need to be consistent, and also stop articles being created for "nobodies", but at the same time, it leaves some quite well-known artists without articles sometimes.

In both cases of Redlight and Rudimental (and Otto Knows for that matter) - the single actually had the Wikipedia page prior to the actual artist page. I think I may have created the Rudimental one back in May 2012 following the release of 'Feel the Love'/their appearance at R1 Hackney Weekend. I don't think there's a criteria, for example smaller bands like Fixers and Givers both had/have Wiki pages without charting singles etc.

Yeah, you don't need to have a charting single. I found the list of things an artist must do (at least one of) to get a Wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Not...s_and_ensembles

Bands like Fixers or Givers might qualify due to #1, #4, #5 or #11 or something maybe? There's also probably many artists that meet the criteria, but nobody bothers making them an article.

 83. Reckless - You Me At Six

Chasing a third top 100 hit off 'Sinners Never Sleep' and an 11th top 100 hit in total!

Zero promotion or hype so far! If this is being released on their own lable with no backing it's gonna flop on it's arse

Swedish House Mafia now 0.95 on the #1 so could overtake again tomorrow.

I'm guessing they could be number one next week then again. :)

Off-topic, but Tulisa is premiering her new single "Sight Of You" today. Hope it's good.

This song is a BLAST! I'm just enjoying that Calvin took the number 1 this week... (I'm hoping anyway!)

P.s

They are already ahead with the other version... you think Calvin can hold him with the weekend sales?

We don;t have ANY sales data!!!

Oh fantastic, I didn't realise this was doing so well. Good single choice - they all have been this era, the album is patchy but they've picked out the highlights really well. Shame that "Bite My Tongue" is the only one not to go top 100 though.

I find it strange that their singles can do pretty decently, on a par with the Vaccines for instance yet their albums do far worse.

82. Kevin Lyttle - Turn Me On

This seems to just pop up in the top 100 every few months now.

Even if given massive promo, it would still not do as well as their fans think it deserved - 99% of the attempts at career revival end up doing nothing more than sullying the memory of what the acts once were.

It's odd how they've come back in the last 12 months, after being virtually dormant for the previous 6 years...
