If BYB got to #1 even though it's the SIXTH single from an album then surely that's some sort of record??

It's amazing to think the record company thought this was only good enough to be the sixth single. It could end up being Labrinth's most successful single to date although 'Earthquake' might take some beating.

I didn't think much of Labrinth and Emeli's performance, but I do like the song. If it stops JLS getting another #1 single, I'm all for "Beneath Your Beautiful" being a surprise #1 :D

Indeed! After 'Treatment' smashed it and peaked at #55 i never thought the next single from the album could be heading for #1 - Looks like his album is going to have a huge climb this week too as its moved to #10 and #24 on iTunes!

'I Can't Make You Love Me' is back on the rise in all versions due to Kye's 'save me' performance.

 92. I Can't Make You Love Me (Live) - ADELE

 127. I Can't Make You Love Me - George Michael

 244. I Can't Make You Love Me / Nick of Time - Bon Iver

 272. I Can't Make You Love Me - Bonnie Raitt

And MK1's 'save me' performance:

'Beneath Your Beautiful' has a third version at #256 and JLS have a second version at #494.

I really doubt that's the case - far more likely they were just saving it so it could get an X Factor performance and that's clearly worked. 'Express Yourself' and 'Treatment' were just to keep his name around in the charts (the latter kind of fell flat but 'Express Yourself' served its purpose), I think they knew 'Beneath Your Beautiful' would be a lot bigger. See also Jessie J with 'Who You Are'.

Would love Adele's version to re-peak - Deserves to chart higher than #37 officially.

Brilliant for BYB. I've always enjoyed it, but the performance made me realise how brilliant it is

Also good to see JLS not doing too brilliantly, although top 10 is still an achievement!

2. Beneath Your Beautiful (featuring. Emeli Sande) - Labrinth

Yes - I heard on the grapevine this was the plan from the beginning, and it's working wonders. Though it'll probably help Emeli's re-release more than Labrinth's album. Quite amusing she's stolen the song for her album and released it the day after doing it on X Factor, very crafty ;)

WTF?????????????? No impact for jls at all but emeli up like 53587% and from 80 to 2 combined??? I dont get it, sorry.
Beneath your beautiful won't keep this up it has no radio or TV airplay, so it will probably start falling by Tuesday but still it's a magnificent achievement to get to #2 off the back of one performance

It's not that difficult to understand  People have obviously connected more with the Labrinth song, and the fact it hasn't been on radio/tv for months mean that the performance has made a lot of people discover the song for perhaps the first time.

WHOAAA at Beneath Your Beautiful, gorgeous song but it was really dying on iTunes in the past week for no apparent reason, despite rising airplay. Surprised this performance turned things round so much :o
I really need to see this performance on YouTube, solely to see the fuss over this track zooming up so much.

That's a good point. 'Treatment' I suppose was more like a buzz single rather than an official single (a baffling choice but still). Syco clearly know how to market their acts (most of the time) so kudos to them. I hadn't really given the song much attention prior to tonight but 'Beneath Your Beautiful' is a lovely song. I still adore 'Wonder' though that little bit more.
