Are X Factor performances having much of an impact this year?

A little bit, yes. Without it Taylor wouldn't have re-entered the top 10 and Rebecca wouldn't be a top 15 debut. JLS should be a top 3 hit with help from the X Factor, with Labrinth going top 40.

Would love to see that happen but really not sure the performance will have that much of an impact - Its currently #90 on iTunes would love to see it surge into the Top 10 though!

It might kick the campaign off though - with radio plays starting now and then a top 40 charting would increase video plays too?

Great to see Bastille doing great, they sound like Athlete to me which is good. Thank god for radio 1 playing the single alot!!

'Wonder' not doing nearly as well as I thought it would be at this stage - it seems to have stalled at #17 and the EP is #11 and after tonight's XF performance focus could shift to 'Beneath Your Beautiful'

I suppose it depends on how strong the performance is. If it's staged well and they nail the vocal I think people will be really impressed and rush to buy it. If it's underwhelming, maybe not.

She performed 'Wonder' on Jonathan Ross last night, and her vocals didn't come across great - the backing singers seemed louder than her. But I think a lot of people will buy the track off her album re-release tomorrow, as has happened on Irish iTunes.

'Beneath Your Beautiful' is also on her re-release.

JLS  #6 - hardly setting the chart alight right now!

Doing better than i thought they would at this stage prior to their XF performance - I think Leona was at #29 before hers and Rebecca was at #70, Pleased that after their break and flop of their last 2 singles that they are still managing Top 10 with ease - With the EP at #3 and physical sales they are heading for Top 3 at least. Will be interesting to see what tonight's performance has on the track and they have Chatty Man at the end of the week to hold up sales.

I have to agree on that, not sure if the X Factor performance is going to do them any favours, we shall see later, SHM seem far ahead at the mo. Plus with their album out tomorrow, it will have a second track of the single to cherry pick. They could be doing the double next Sunday.

Agree with Pop B!tch, JLS are doing better than I expected. Would be nice if they could get top 5 before their performance but hopefully the performance can propel them to at least #2. Will be happy with anywhere top 5 officially, i.e. an improvement on 'Proud'.

Naughty Boy on the other hand is really underperforming so far, expected him to be easily top 3 but he could miss the top 10 at this rate!

Pre XF performance positions -

JLS - Hottest Girl In The World #6

Labrinth/Emeli Sande - Beneath Your Beautiful #89

Also still surprised that the acoustic version of 'Don't You Worry Child' has yet to make an impact after being reduced to 59p.

Indeed, think the fact its under Naughty Boy and not her isn't exactly helping things. Wasn't it this time last year the follow up to Heaven sort of flopped a bit - was that single with Naughty Boy too??

Yes, Daddy.

Although actually Naughty Boy produced most of Emeli's album, including Heaven (and also Never Be Your Woman and Diamond Rings), just he only gets official crediting on Daddy.

Yes with a track called 'Daddy' last December which flopped on it's arse after the success of 'Heaven' - It had a chart run of: 21-43-76-Out

Yeah, didnt really take off - maybe it was the time of year and the fact Heaven and Read all about it got so much attention!
I wish Calvin/Florence would stay at no1 for a second week. SHM, Wonder and Hottest girl are all dreadful imo. With wonder being the most dissapointing of the 3 considering I loved Emeli's album (even Daddy).

88. Labrinth - Beneath Your Beautiful (feat. Emeli Sande)

Watch it climb now after that brilliant performance :D

Thought JLS smashed it - Top 3 now please! Looking forward to Labrinith & Emeli zooming up the charts too!
A return to the charts for Adele's 'I Can't Make You Love Me' methinks after Kyes performance
