March 1, 201312 yr apparently she was good one of the concerts stand outs apparently there are some videos on youtube of the tide is high and i have to admit i was a bit taken back! She really wasn't THAT great, she just about held a tune but for some reason the whole audience went crazy every time she opened her mouth, it was literally Kerrymania :drama: I actually thought all the acts were pretty good though, even 911 who I never rated in the first place, Spike and/or Jimmy (me and Rich both admitted to each other that we had no idea which was which, at one point I shouted out "go Spimmy!") still had the moves, and if anything Lee's voice has improved, plus he's a dude.
March 1, 201312 yr 911 were a real surprise, I couldn't believe how much of an unexpected singalong A Little Bit More turned out to be, for such a 'non number 1' :o I'm not so fond of Jimmy but I really like both Lee and Spike (now I've worked out which one he is!)
March 1, 201312 yr Just seen this really interesting article about 'the story of Whole Again' In the 15+ years that I've followed the charts Whole Again going to #1 was by FAR the biggest shock I can recall seeing. I was 13 and in year 9 at school at the time, I'd seen it on the Monday at about #15 in the Woolies chart and thought 'there's no way it's going to get that high after the flop of Follow Me'. There was no buzz around it, no radio support, their fanbase didn't seem interested in buying a ballad by Atomic Kitten and I recall reading a couple of days before that they were all set to be dropped after Kerry had left. I think I found out the mids whilst looking on the internet at school on the Wednesday morning and I literally couldn't believe it, I thought it was a mistake! It seems strange now to look back and think that nobody saw it coming but it was a genuine huge surprise. I still have no idea where they managed to muster up the support to sell over 60k in their first week, how had people even heard the song!? Obviously it grew from there and is one of the 'classics' of this millennium now but it started off so oddly.Completely agree with you! 'Whole Again''s whole rise to popularity is definitely the biggest surprise of my time following the charts and stuff. I think it didn't help that, when I had heard it and loved everything they'd put out prior to that but didn't like this one much, I must have put myself in the "If their other singles didn't do well, this has no hope" frame of mind (as you all know I really thought it was a pretty bland song, up until very recently ). So to see it set the charts alight as much as it did! I remember one of the weeks between them and 'Teenage Dirtbag' must have been close as my mum was moaning and calling the charts "a fix" etc... because she'd seen Wheatus were number 1 in the mids all (most?) week and were even number 1 on CD:UK, but in the official charts 'Whole Again' remained there.
March 1, 201312 yr Yeah I think I've figured it out now too, Spike is the older one I think, the one that (in the words of my husband) "looks like a potato" now  As for ALBM, I think it's one that you still hear on the radio a lot, at least the original version by Dr Hook, it's one that the mums and the kids could sing along with (or should I say the mums and grandmas, I don't know how many people under 25 there were there!)
March 1, 201312 yr True, Spike's done very well for himself with a girlfriend way out of his league! True, I think 21 was about the age of the youngest person there! It was very much a 20s/30s affair!
March 1, 201312 yr I want to see this gig even less than before after discovering the horrific personalties in the groups, some right nasty and screwed up people. Good tv though. The fact that Katona gets the best reaction tells you all you need to know about the people who went to the gig. Edited March 1, 201312 yr by BuzzLightyear
March 2, 201312 yr I need this concert on TV now. I can't stop watching fan videos of Atomic Kitten's 'Whole Again' performance. As a huge fan of them, it's such a massive moment. I can't believe I love the song as much as I do now after disliking it for so long!
March 2, 201312 yr I never disliked it but it's always been the definition of an 8/10 moment for me, and the studio version more or less still is. But live it was definitely a 10/10 and great climax sort of song, which is odd for a ballad but then it did come across as surprisingly anthemic. Probably because it's so well known so everybody was singing along to every word.
March 2, 201312 yr Ben Adams tweeted this on Feb 28th... "Anyone watching the #bigreunion and feel something is missing?" I would like to hope that this is a hint they're trying to be involved, but i wont hold my breath
March 2, 201312 yr What did everyone think of Thrusday's episode? It continues to get more interesting, I never knew about the extent of the problems in 911! :o :D
March 2, 201312 yr It's funny how the template for the drama is exactly the same in every group. Pockets of friendship, people who didn't get on at all, a total lack of communication (so and so is TOTALLY SHOCKED when they find out their bandmate wants out), exhaustion and drug/alcohol problems (usually resulting in some very wide eyed appearances on SMTV or CD:UK). The 5ive night out was funny, Abz seemed totally mortified by the whole thing and nobody could quite believe that Sean was actually being nice for a change. Just watched Whole Again, not a bad arrangement/performance although Kerry needs to trim down a bit in time for the next concert. Of everybody involved in this show I think Natasha was the biggest revelation. She looks bloody good with her new face. I just wish All Saints had taken part. The drama would've been off the charts! Literally! Edited March 2, 201312 yr by Jark
March 2, 201312 yr They could easily do a second series with All Saints, Blue, Mis-teeq, S Club 7 and a couple more. I'd say Hear'say but they'd never get the girls to go back. Edited March 2, 201312 yr by Jark
March 2, 201312 yr Lindsay from B*Witched looks the best to me, she's more attractive to me now than she was in her heydey. in terms of the guys it's surprising how well Lee Brennan has aged. Richie from 5ive and Mariama from the Honeyz look much the same too. Heavenli's new hairstyle has aged her by about a decade. I'd love The Corrs to be part of a second series, I'm sure their reunion is more a case of when than if, as long as they can get Jim's act together. I know they weren't as pure pop as the others but Runaway, What Can I Do, Breathless and Dreams very much fit the turn of the century pop mould.
March 2, 201312 yr Whole Again has always been a good concert ender (although in this case fake ending) 59bcQiswuvg From the Ladies Night Tour, but oh shit we have a Greatest Hits to plug so lets call it The Greatest Hits tour but perform more Ladies Night album tracks than doing top 10 singles Tour.
March 3, 201312 yr I'd love The Corrs to be part of a second series, I'm sure their reunion is more a case of when than if, as long as they can get Jim's act together. I know they weren't as pure pop as the others but Runaway, What Can I Do, Breathless and Dreams very much fit the turn of the century pop mould. THIS. :yahoo: + add allSTARS*
March 3, 201312 yr THIS. :yahoo: + add allSTARS* Given some people think the Honeyz weren't really successful enough for this show, the allSTARS would have no interest whatsoever. What Jark said with Gooddelt's idea of the Corrs. Add in A1 or Another Level and you have a second series.
March 3, 201312 yr I wonder if A1 might consider joining back up with Paul temporarily? I wonder how he feels about their continued career in Norway, and whether or not it would be referenced on the show?

March 4, 201312 yr Does anyone know what these bands plan to do after The Big Reunion show/tour. Is the plan to fade away again, or do any of them want to record and release new music? New music from B*Witched, Liberty X and the Honeyz would be great.
March 5, 201312 yr I need this concert on TV now. I can't stop watching fan videos of Atomic Kitten's 'Whole Again' performance. As a huge fan of them, it's such a massive moment. I can't believe I love the song as much as I do now after disliking it for so long! Hah that happens to me many times, going back listening to songs I didnt like at the time or didnt care, and then coming to love them. "End Of The Line" by the Honeyz being a recent example, only recently did I become a fan of that track.
