GO

There's probably going to be an official rate or poll soon to start a bit of hype

Finally saw this on Wednesday and what a fantastic and epic movie  Also adored Rey in this

03.5 Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace >> Literally saved by the big Lightsaber battle! <<

03.0 Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones

xx Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

07.5 Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope

11.0 Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back

09.0 Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi

10.0 Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

Still need to see the other 2, but 'The Phantom Menace' really is as bad as everyone makes it out to be! :drama: Apparently AOTC is even worse with ROTS being the best of the newer trilogy. We shall wait and see I guess!

Attack of the Clones is a huge step up. I actually find is just as good as Revenge of the Sith. Revenge of the Sith has better highs, but the love story is so rushed and cheesy it lets it down for me.

05 Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace

07 Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones

08 Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

10 Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope

10 Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back

09 Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi

10 Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

I've only ever seen Episode 4 prior to seeing this at the cinema, but I still really enjoyed it. A Star Wars film in 2015 was always going to be BIG in terms of graphics and cinematography but I'm glad there's also some really good storytelling in there too, and some classic surprises. I'm now really looking forward to watching the previous trilogies.

09 Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace

04 Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones

07 Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

08 Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope

08 Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back

06 Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi

09 Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

I guess. I don't know how to explain why I like Episode I but I just do, the lack of a galaxy-spanning desperate must-stop plot is really refreshing (trade agreements >>>), the minutiae of the universe that get expanded in it, and I find it all quite light-hearted and FUN. The double whammy of a) it being the first one I saw and b) enjoying people get up in arms about it probably help too.

I really like IV and V but neither are perfect, IV isn't fleshed out enough (although that's because it's the first movie I guess), VII is what a perfect IV would have been, and it feels like very little happens in V until they get to Cloud City. III is mostly enjoyable but has a dragging middle, II has a dragging EVERYTHING until the final 30 minutes, VI has a cackling Emperor and a final act that doesn't quite feel as epic as it should.

VII is hovering between a 9 and a 10, I'm sure it'll be a 10 in time because it was pretty solid all the way through.

Iz you're the worst Star Wars fan ever!!!!!!

07 Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace

03 Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones

05 Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

10 Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back

08 Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi

When I first saw the prequels I didn't mind them at all - I had got in to Star Wars in 1997, and I was probably George Lucas' target audience for Jar Jar Binks when the Phantom Menace came out. I don't think Jar Jar is that bad, at least not as bad as he's made out to be. Some horrible acting, but the end lightsaber battle and Darth Maul make the film actually OK.

Attack of the Clones is so dull. The only good part is the last 30 minutes. The love story is painful, and there's so much mentioned about what happened off-screen.. instead we're tourtured with Jedi politics and a rebellious Anakin.

First viewing of Revenge of the Sith - loved it. But it's so bad on repeat viewing. So much of it could have been handled better (The nooooooooooooooo for starters). The lightsaber battle is rubbish, I mean we're meant to believe Anakin loses the battle because of the lower ground... no way!!!! Plus General Grevious.. such a randon character, and God knows why Obi-Wan spends half the film galloping around on the lizard.

Love all the originals - A New Hope is my favourite, but Empire Strikes Back has of course the most memorable scene of the entire series.

Finally seen this and every bit the spectacle that I was expecting! Loved the blend of old and new, Harrison Ford walked straight into the role we know and love

so a bit gutted Kylo did that

. Maz Kanata was actually my favourite new character of them all, Lupita did a fantastic job in voicing such an eccentric character and she was really fun to look at. She seems like more of a one-time character but we didn't see her die so I hope she doea turn up somewhere down the line. BB8 is so likeable too, the thumbs up sign was the funniest part in the whole movie  excited to re-watch this now!

07 Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones

07 Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

08 Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope

11 Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back

10 Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi

10 Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

Before seeing VII I re-watched them all in episode order. Thankfully, being the age I am I had the fortune to see them all originally in release order, so THAT moment in V was experienced as it should be - by a completely unsuspecting 8 year old.

04 Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace - Points awarded for Liam Neeson, Ray Park and Keira Knightley only

06 Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones - suffers from having to set up the 3rd film and Christiansen/Portman's 'acting'

07 Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith - The only great moment is Vader's slaughter of the children. Disappointing reliance on CGI and iffy ending

010 Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope - Full or charm, energy and panache. Has dated far less than the prequels, surprisingly

11 Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back - The only SW film with any kind of depth to it. Also has arguably cinema's greatest ever shock ending

10 Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi - Great finale, solid opening and Palpatine is brilliant but too much like a retread of IV

09 Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens - Falls so close to IV it's almost a parody in places. However, great spirit, great cast (especially Ridley), great effects, great ending and a solid set up for VIII. Let down by a weak/too familiar story

Back from seeing this today... I successfully avoided all spoilers so I was pleased by that... or at least I thought I did anyway, turns out I'd seen A New Hope so plenty of spoilers there.

Anyway, my biggest gripe as hinted at above is that I felt like the film was more of a modern reenactment of A New Hope rather than a new story in the series and actually I felt really rather let down by that in the end. I had hoped for new ideas with a touch of nostalgia, not the other way round. In general I did find all the new characters likeable though so that was a plus and the little robot thing was great, preferred it even to R2D2! :o

I have watched this and just loved it. It was amazing and blew all the terrible prequels out of the water. Okay this may have been a basic re-hash of Episode IV, but I didn't mind, I still loved it. There were a few shocks that surprised me though, but overall I thought that finally they made a decent Star Wars film that can compare to the original 3 and cannot wait to see what happens next.

Firstly It was great seeing the old characters again, especially Han Solo and Chewbacca, they were just great. But shame we didn't get enough of Leia or Luke, but maybe the follow ups will bring them back again. But the new characters were very decent. Rey was awesome and it was great having her front and centre and the fact that they made her character a mystery, just made me want more and cannot wait to see more of her story. Finn was also awesome and thought that his interactions with Poe was just awesome, but we didn't get enough of Poe, hopefully he will become a bigger character in the next one.

Plus the loved the twist with the new villain Rylo Ken, very interesting and hopefully Supreme Leader Snoke will get more screen time and bring more to his character as he did seem a bit one note. So overall no complaints, I just loved it and can't wait too see what happens next.

Here's how I rank all the Star Wars films.

11 Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back

10 Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope

10 Star Wars Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi

09 Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

07 Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith

05 Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of The Clones

03 Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace

06 Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace

05 Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones

08 Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

09 Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope

09 Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back

10 Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi

08 Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens (I have rewatched and slightly downgraded now that my initial excitement has worn off a little)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who ranks ROTJ above ANH. Always found ANH to be the most overrated, though it's still good.

Re watched them all recently and one thing I can say, is the improved CGI of the prequels make for much better light sabre battles. The battles in the originals seem so plodding and slow when you watch them now.

Yeah, I love the sabre battles in the prequels, so good to watch visually and plenty of them too. Yoda was a particular highlight in battles *-* That was one thing I didn't like as much here, only one real sabre fight and it was quite up close without many shots of far-out shots where you can really see what's happening.

09 Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace (With Iz on loving this one)

08 Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones (Final 45 minutes make up for this)

08 Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

08.5 Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope

10 Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back

09.5 Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi

11 Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

09 Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace

04 Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones

07 Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

08 Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope

08 Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back

06 Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi

09 Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

This ranking hurts my soul.

How can you say nothing happens in V in the first half!? It has everything thrown into it in the first 60 minutes!! Has the perect blend of action, humour, character development, frights, shocks.. And then especially compared to I where literally nothing of interest happens :drama: oh Iz

Anyway my attempt at a ranking (having not seen VII yet)

06 Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace

06 Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones

08 Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

09 Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope

11 Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back

10 Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi

I am going to see VII on Thursday and have avoided all spoilers so far :cheer:

Yesssss, another for the Return of The Jedi > A New Hope clique.
