What is even more shocking is that some of those so-called human beings aren't even covering their faces!

I thought member of the Ku Klux Klan wasn't something that someone would like to be identified as.

Some people take pride in being a member! :drama:

This sucks.

It still hurts guys, especially in relation to everythin else that is going on in politics.

I have sone essay posts to write but right now I cannot face it.

Tbh I'm nearly done with politics in general. Hoping a trip to a Lib Dems AGM will respark my interest.

I'm only going for the free buffet tbh

This hurts so much more than Brexit and it's not even my country. Brexit was frustrating because I get th sense loads of people didn't really really understand what they'd done. People knew what they were doing here which is why it hurts so much more.

UK election results never huet me much as I NEVER doubted their intentions/ intelligence even when voting Tory.

Brexit was frustrating but I understood it and it hurr too but not like this.

I have slept less than 20 hours from Tuesday-today in total. I am devastated. It hurts. Racism won. Sexism won. The white supremacist won.

And what smarts even more is I KNEW!! and everyone here treated me like my worries were just for attention but I was ringig the alarm bells since the primaries for my FAVOURITE POLITICIAN EEEVER and got insulted over it.

But I did not wsnt to be right and the last week's polls had me holding obto hope and that has just made it all the worse.

I have loved Hills as a person and as a politician since I was 9. The symbolism of rhe first female candidate tired and broken in her concession speech, pushing it back and back as she was too upset to give it, of seeing her totally worn out and not made up hiking out in the woods the enxt day. This symbolism of hate winning out makes it even worse for us.

And the rest of the political landscape leaves us, especially quasi-socialists like me, heartbroken, without recourse or much hope. Right now. And that's also what hurts.

It's quite similar to Brexit. Trump inspired people to vote who probably wouldn't usually vote, or didn't have any particular preference to Republican or Democrat. For a lot of people life is shit, especially those who don't have companies paying a large portion of their medical insurance. They decided that they no longer wanted a non-charismatic robot telling them what they can and can't do. They went against the logic and experts. It's exactly like Brexit! I suspect a lot of people probably voted for Trump probably because they thought he wouldn't win.

The part that hurts the most about all of this is that she won the popular vote, but the system still gave Donald Trump the presidency. That's the second time in two decades that a Democratic candidate was the people's choice but was denied the presidency. It just doesn't feel like democracy, especially when senators and representatives are elected by popular vote. It was also very heartbreaking seeing all the stories of the women and girls she inspired and were excited about the prospect of her groundbreaking presidency. And no, they weren't voting for her solely because she was a woman, but because her experience and political platform appealed to them, and the thought of finally having a female president was also profoundly thrilling.

I'm so drained and dejected after this election, because it's gone on for too long and the end result was a complete abomination of democracy. I don't think I'll ever watch presidential debates again, they are a complete waste of time and obviously don't change anyone's mind. Trump was absolutely awful in them.

Mum/Dad: Son it's wrong to chant racist slurs against people

Son: But Mummy/Daddy I heard President Trump say this on T.V, so it must be okay right?

Again, just locker room talk.

I've been an athlete for most of my life. I've been in locker rooms across the country for competitions and I've trained with 8 clubs and national squads and I have never ever heard anything anywhere near approaching this level in any locker room.

It's not locker room talk. Scores of professional athletes came out after the pussy comments to reiterate that they've never been in a locker room environment like that.

It's quite simply a wrong statement. Always has been, always will be. I'd put a gooooood amount of money on anyone say that it's "locker room talk" having not been within 40 miles of a locker room since High School.

I do understand the disappointment of Hillary supporters here in regards to the Electoral college vs the popular vote argument but popular vote is not what the election was fought on. If it was one person one vote from day 1 there is no reason to think the result on the popular result would be the same. For example I live in a very safe Labour seat and if I am a Conservative voter my vote is pretty much worthless at a general election. I have spoken to people before who don't bother voting because its a "safe seat" (goes both ways of course) But in reality Clinton is only ahead in the PV (at the moment by 0.4%) because of 1 state, California, which she won by a huge margin. A very large majority of the country pretty much voted against her, in the end it will be 31 states to 21 states in Trump's favour. He's going to end up with 306 electoral votes. This is no Bush/Gore.

The EU referendum shows more people come out to vote in a one person one vote system because every vote counts. There's no reason to think it would change the result here if that was the deal from the outset. Looking at the data. More women than expected and also more Hispanics voted for Trump, almost 30% despite every thing was said about "The Wall" Is not a given Hillary would win.

I'm just not sure that if Trump had won the popular vote by winning Texas by a huge margin and lost the presidency on EV Hillary supporters would be dissing the system. In the end if you are passionate about something and you lose, you are always going to feel hard done by.

I thought there were only 50 US States?

There is. The District of Columbia (Washington DC) gets a vote too making 51 States and Territories
