Donald will only take one dollar a year as his Presidential salary. The more I hear about this man the more I like him.

The crushing disappointment is passing now and it is slowly sinking in that this orange turd is president. It helps that I predicted it and have been expecting this (or Bernie Sanders) since last what September/ October? Now it is getting replaced by frustration/ the will to get the left back in power.

Do not let 1 dollar cheap gimmicks confuse you. That salary is there to attract the best and brightest. Trump is a conman billionnaire; of course he doesn't need it. And after not paying tax for however many years it's the lesst he could do.

The Presidential salary is pretty low. By Trump's standards, it's small change. It will "save" the average American a few cents over a full term.

I've always found the most fascinating thing about Reince Priebus is the number of possible ways of pronouncing his name.

Ray-on-say Pree-boo?

Reens Pree-ay-bus?

Rons Prye-bus?

Ree-ins Pree-a-boo?

This is a TOKEN move, but the alternate reading of it is 'Pfft, I don't need such a PALTRY salary anyway. I'm loaded''. Great for the optics, but actually devoid of anything other than that. Just like a normal politician.

glad you approve of tax-dodging multi-billionaires (this is a fact), and the fact that he has his own family in place to both take part in US politics and run his businesses "at arms length" at the same time with no conflict of inetrest there at all whatsoever, no sirree, no chance of him making shitloads more than $400000 a year out of it, not one iota.

Just watch who gets the contracts and permissions to his future escapades.....

I don't normally make personal comments on BJ, everyone is entitle to an opinion, but you do seem to have a very narrow view when it comes to right-wing rich people who won't do a thing to help poor people. All you have to do is do a bit of research around issues. I suggest Private Eye, pretty much all accurate, more or less, give or take the odd bit of bias.

you are a moron

Thats all lefties have now, just name calling and slurs. We're living in a new world order now, roll on January 20th 2017.

If you want to see some true anti-semites, you probably don't need to look no further than Jeremy Corbyn and his Labour far left fanbase.

Has Corbyn fronted an advert attacking "the establishment" where every member of the establishment shown was Jewish? No.

Has Trump? Yes.

Corbyn doesn't exactly cover himself in glory on not consorting with anti-Semites, but at least he hasn't appointed an open anti-Semite as his Chief Strategist. Unlike Trump.

A look at the good, the bad and the very bad of Trumponomics from George Magnus, who's pretty big in economics circles post-2008. Whatever your political alignment, it's actually a lot more mixed than his social dogma/personality etc, and very relevant to the UK given a) Brexit and leaving the largest single market, b) that the Tories have switched from a policy of unfettered free-marketerism to some sort of a dirigist command economy with May's cabinet, c) Tories trying to cosy up to Trump could involve an alignment of ideology and d) our history of following US economic policy (hello Reagan/Thatcher).

On one hand, his expansionary fiscal policy, both through infrastructure projects and lowering taxes, is getting some sectors very excited (such as the military industry). Remember the Republican-triggered debt ceiling crises of the last few years and the 2013 federal government shutdown? Trumponomics, on the other hand, seemingly has no problem with this debt. His protectionism, such as ripping up existing trade deals and imposing tarifs on China to 'punish' it for its currency manipulation myth, is seriously worrying and since nobody really gains from it, I expect him to be advised to quietly back down from that one. But who knows in the post-2016 world.

Is MORON your favourite word then? Believe me I have been called much much worse!

Remember that 'refuses to accept he is wrong' comment I made in the rate thread by any chance, Michael?

:)

I didn't want to be right eh.

I know this is going to seem utterly stupid in all of this, but despite Donald Trump being such an obviously abysmal candidate, most of my anger/sadness/despair is born out of actuallt rooting SO f***ONG HARD for HRC. Yes she's flawed and not the most charismatic leader ever but I actually think she would have been a great president. Trump might not be the worst ever, in fact he almost definitely won't be, but he will not be in any way reflective or inclusive of thr world on 2016. Well, not the world of non-whire uneducated men anyway.

He's going to set ao many things back so many years isn't he. Abortion, gay rights, the lot. We thought the supreme Court was bad now...

I don't know if I replied to this post yet or not but this is EXACTLY HOW I FEEL!! It's helped to see she's done conference calls and went hiking after being so obviously devastated by the result. She would have done great things and is an amazing woman (albeit a weak candidate however thanks to years of Repub attacks in anticipation for that moment/ scandals). It was even worse that she lost to such an appalling w stain of a human being.

I read through this thread after not doing so before, well the part of the night of The Orange Turd's Cauldron Rebirth using Harry's blood, and my heart was beating so hard even though I knew the result. Worse than Brexit.

I have faith he didn't reaaally want the job and was just in it for his ego however so I have faith it will be like any other Repuke administration - providing that damn wall and deportations don't happen.
