Alicia is definitely a number 1 contender and will be at least top 3 I'm sure. Her, Olly & Girls Aloud should all have absolutely massive sales that week.

Alicia contending for #1 in an Olly/GA release week  Not sure if srs

I highly doubt it, but it's not like it's impossible.

I really think people are (sadly) overestimating how well Girls Aloud will do :(. Although I'd love it to be #01.

I think Girls Aloud will be #02 next week, Something New is doing well on Airplay and is doing well on iTunes pre-orders.

I don't know how far Bruno Mars is going to sell over 100,000, he's not really had a big lead on iTunes, and Little Mix have reduced the gap to 15% which could be caught tomorrow.

Oh god at Gabrielle Aplin #03. The song is boring/dull and would be one of the worst number ones this year.

05. Mcfly - Love Is Easy (I could see this debuting at 06 and dropping quite dramatically next week. Surprised they weren't on SCD seeing how Harry Judd won it last year)

10. Rihanna - Diamonds (One Direction should knock her out of the top 10 tomorrow with Little Things)

13. The Wanted - I Found You (Ouch at the potential drop of 03-13 (could actually be worse with Little Things getting cherry picked)

19. Stooshe - Waterfalls (As I predicted this is going to do My Heart Takes Over and will no doubt ruin Stooshe's album campaigns)

21. Christina Perri - A Thousand Years

29. Ed Sheeran - Give Me Love

47. Example - Close Enemies (Oh dear at the thought of this missing the top 40, Alexandra Burke says hi)

61. Lana Del Rey - Ride (Oh dear! This is quite amusing)

One Hour since the album has been released on iTunes

99. One Direction - Little Things

:o It's #84 now! It's been cherry-picked from an album right? If so, that's the fastest I've ever seen a cherry-picked song go top 100. Even Love the Way You Lie I remember being at like #293 right before I went to work the day it was released.

'Love The Way You Lie' didn't get a big performance / constant reminders about it being released and plugged every minute possible though.

I hope it flops LWWY style.

It's probably not going to be as big as LWWY, since it's a post-album single I guess. Maybe a similar sized hit to One Thing overall.

I wouldn't refer to 'Little Things' as being a "cherry picked" track. It's the official second single, has a music video, plus UK & US X Factor performances. It's not just a randomly popular choice, it's very specifically being bought as a single.

But "Little Things" is a single right? So it being cherry picked from the album is equivalent to people buying the single only?

I really think Alicia Keys could potentially be a huge surprise #01.

Watch me be completely wrong and have her only just make Top 10 though. I don't know why, I just feel there's alot of buzz over her new one for once unlike other lead singles of hers.

Oh no I am with you. There definitely seems to be interest in Alicia this time around and although I cant see anyone stopping Olly, numver 2 is quite plausible. GA are definitely being over estimated, imo. They're gonna have to settle for a 'Biology' sort of run.

I remember even Doesn't Mean Anything making like #2 on iTunes (I think), so you never know.

I'd love her to get a #1 (not that she isn't satisfied with the success of Empire State of Mind in this country ).

I still believe Alicia would have got an official number 1 with DMA had the release to iTunes not been f***ed around with! It wasnt available until Tuesday IIRC! And seeing it reach top 3 on iTunes a couple of days after (and with ease - when most xf performers lose momentum late tues) it would have been huge.

It's basically the same situation as songs like Best Thing I Never Had, You Da One, I'm Into You, Blah Blah Blah, etc. They were all "singles", and on the radio, and some had music videos, and Beyonce's track had a live performance, but the first time they were available for download was on the album release day, so they had to be cherry-picked. I know what you mean though.

Or more recent examples, Good Time and She Wolf both were released like this. This is still the fastest start I've ever seen.

^^ I think Girls Aloud will put up a good fight, #2 at least. I don't see the song apologetically limping into the middle of the Top 10 and slumping the week afterwards. They're now Top 10 on TV and up to the mid 20s on Radio (a thirty place climb this week).

I don't think Alicia Keys has a chance of being number one this week, I don't think she will touch the top 2. I think Olly Murs is a certainty of number one next week, Girl On Fire is not even top 200 on iTunes album chart (Single) while Troublemaker has always been around the #100 mark

Radio Airplay

04. Olly Murs - Troublemaker

15. Alicia Keys - Girl On Fire

25. Girls Aloud - Something New

Television Airplay

09. Girls Aloud - Something New

12. Olly Murs - Troublemaker

18. Alicia Keys - Girl On Fire

Ahh I know what you mean, but somehow the phrase "cherry-picked" makes it sound like it's a random, baseless purchase! Clearly I'm not down with iTunes thread lingo. :kink:

I think the fast start for 1D can only be attributed to the X Factor performances. It's like the single is officially released today, even if it's not via an EP, but the album.

Similar example is Girls Aloud - 'Call The Shots'. They performed that on The X Factor on Saturday 17th Nov '07, but it was only available to buy via the 'Tangled Up' album on Monday 19th Nov '07.

Tbh y'all know this time next month

Radio Airplay

01. The Saturdays - What About Us

Television Airplay

01. The Saturdays - What About Us

iTunes Pre-Orders

01. The Saturdays - What About Us.

Y'ALL WONT KNOW WHATS HIT YOU!

Oh I didnt mean that 'Something New' would have a shabby chart run or sales or whatever, 'Biology' was probably a bad example, but I always think 'Biology' was so much bigger than it really was. But I dont think theyve got a top 3 as easy as people seem to think. Alicia will surprise and with the XF performance, I can see this era being massive for her. They are gonna have longevity though (probably something like 'Up' by the sats sort of longevity).

01. Bruno Mars - Locked Out Of Heaven 100%

02. Little Mix - Dna 84.3%

03. Gabrielle Aplin - The Power Of Love 81.2% (Since 12pm, Gabrielle has reduced the gap from 8% to 3.1%, so she should easily be at #02 tomorrow)

65. One Direction - Little Things (Should easily be top 10 tomorrow, I hope Rihanna manages to climb to avoid being knocked out the top 10, about time we got a top 10 clearance though)

Girls Aloud and Kylie performing on Strictly next week :cheer: + CIN great promotion for GA

Far from obvious what song Kylie will perform, though.

That would be a shock #1 if it gets there. :o

Especially for an Xmas song in mid-November. :P

Girls Aloud will definitely be #1, though.
