XF has a far bigger effect on the chart than all three of those put together - the closest thing to matching an XF boost would be a performance on Jonathan Ross/Graham Norton etc. or a one-off event like the Jubilee concert or the Olympic opening/closing ceremony.

Just bought Something New from iTunes.

Please be Number 1.

Remember GA have Royal Variety on Monday aswell. So thats CIN (12m viewers), Strictly (11.8m viewers) and Royal Variety (9 million viewers) vs. X-Factor 8m viewers.

It'll be close.

Royal Variety isn't until December on TV even if it's recorded on Monday.

Is the Royal Variety shown this week on tv?

Have the script got 2 versions of their new single in the chart??Their ep is only out this week?!

EDIT - just seen the above!!

Xmas singles should go high this week as mtv and vh1 have started their Merry Christmas countdown!!

63. Troublemaker - Olly Murs

86. Something New - Girls Aloud

very high already!

Olly starting out ahead as ABSOLUTELY NO ONE predicted. This bodes well. Very well.

Great to see both doing so well though, should easily beat the highest sales for #2 of the year whoever it is.

Alicia might be a bit of a wildcard because she'll have two versions of GOF doing well this week - the normal version and the 'inferno' version with Nicki Minaj that's being played on Capital. Keys/Aloud for #1
Girls Aloud are #1 and Olly Murs is #2 on the iTunes Album Chart!! Rudimental is #3 and Alicia Keys at #5.

Yep, Girls Aloud went to #1 on the iTunes Album chart in the space of 41minutes.

I've bought from iTunes, Amazon, Play and downloaded on my mobile through their website.

Will buy all three remixes seperately after midweeks are out.

Not to mention of course the weeks and weeks of pre-orders.

In addition to Olly at 63 and GA at 86 as established, Rudimental are at 587 and Alicia at 833 solo/1427 with Nicki. No alternate versions of Olly/GA in the top 1,500 yet.

I'm sorry but I've gotta say get a life, and I mean that in the nicest possible way. Whatever will be will be, save your money and just enjoy the song.

As expected there seems to be more initial interest from GA fans than Olly fans (ep#1, higher trending topic).

Hopefully it doesn't dwindle throughout the week.

Hopefully the physical sales from Monday will help.

then why haven't they debuted higher in the iTunes singles chart?

Don't even respond to his/her posts... they don't make any sense.

I've always bought multiple copies of GA singles.

Wouldn't you prefer to have different songs to listen to rather than buying the same one lol

Even if Girls Aloud get to no.2, am sure it won't damage their career much, aren't they all about top 10 songs in the UK?

Go Olly by the way
