He's releasing an album next year, so hopefully a big year for him as a lead artist aswell. I'm pretty sure he's doing all these collabs to remind people he still exists.

It didn't do Katy Perry any harm (3Oh!3 & Timbaland collabs before unleashing the 'Teenage Dream' era) so who knows. :D

Will.I.Am/Britney is now out next week so probably won't be #1 now though it'll probably hang around in the New Year.

Could get a week at #1 in the new year if the track is still top 5, depends if the Hillsborough charity track loses three quarters of its sales into its second week. Coldplay got to #1 at the beginning of the year, after the Military Wives dropped down to #4 after a week at #1. Mind you Coldplay probably had the iTunes gift card effect.

X Factor live final effect. :P

Every song in the top 40 that week had the "iTunes gift card effect" hence the bigger than usual sales throughout the top 40.

That was what got them to #2 the week before Military Wives released. They went to #1 because of the gift card effect.

Coldplay were also discounted the week they got to #1.

They had been discounted for about a month and were put back to full price a few days into the week they got to #1 (I remember at the time being worried that would cost them the #1 and IIRC they were off #1 by the end of the week, dropping behind Flo Rida).

Can't remember if it's been mentioned, but i'd like to see Solange do well with 'Losing You' in January!

Hopefully Carly Rae Jepsen will see sense and release the original version of Curiosity; listening to her other stuff that stands out as being the most obvious hit more so than This Kiss anyway

I'd also like for 22 to be the next single from Taylor's Red in the UK

Hurt So Good!

Is there much chance of David Guetta and Alesso's 'Every Chance We Get We Run' getting a single release?

Fantastic song.

Ooh! Excellent news! Taylor's potentially gonna get 3 consecutive top 10 peaking singles! :o
I don't know if it's been mentioned or anything but I could see Down The Road by C2C being big. It was massive in France and it's just started to spread to Australia (with New Zealand soon to follow, obviously). Not sure how big it would be over here but it is on iTunes (was top 1000 a while ago) so I have faith it will do something.

Would be nice if that song could breakthrough, could've sworn it was one of the Radio 1 DJ's record of the week a while ago. If they do eventually playlist it, it could certainly do something

David Guetta is releasing his final (?) single from "Nothing but the Beat" late this month/early January - already on the R1 playlist. It's "Just One Last Time" featuring Taped Rai. Different-sounding material from him, could do well; following in the footsteps of gentle dance tracks such as "Latch"; which I am predicting to be the 'big genre' for 2013.

In terms of artists who the public'll anticipate material from, who've we got?

  • Beyonce

Dizzee Rascal

Eminem

Jay-Z

Jessie J

Katy Perry

Lady Gaga

Lily Allen

Tinie Tempah (with "Drinking From the Bottle" hopefully being a fantastic platform to work from)

Then the album-demanding:

  • Arcade Fire

Arctic Monkeys

Biffy Clyro

Kings of Leon

Paramore

Then some that people are just waiting/hoping for:

  • Diana Vickers

Katy B

La Roux

Pixie Lott

Rudimental (just to see who they collaborate with next - can't wait for their album!)

Tinchy Stryder (seriously when is he releasing "Full Tank"? We've already had three singles from it, I believe)

Timbaland

The Saturdays

Sugababes/MKS

Wiley (ongoing I guess, but some more 'big' collaborations are on the cards apparently (i.e. Chipmunk, Emeli Sande, Tulisa)

Willow Smith (?)

Rudimentals next single is on radio 1 xtras playlist and its a collaboration with Angel Haze - amazingness!!!!!!

Wiley has on his contract 4 singles. Excited for them cos I love him, but I hope they don't all sound like Heatwave.

Tinchy's previous single was Help Me, one of his best songs ever imo, but it missed the top 200 I think. :( Hope he can do better with his future singles.

Beyonce got the superbowl. But I think in general she'll flop again, but hopefully she can at least get a big hit in the UK again like she did with Best Thing I Never Had and Love On Top. Those were awesome.

Just to throw in another suggestion...maybe Neon Trees 'Everybody Talks' could EVENTUALLY gain some airplay over here? Should do well if it does. It's also #177 on iTunes now for whatever reason!
