Eastenders was viewed by 7.9m last night - would be great if it could crack 8m! Last time it managed that was 26 November (aftermath of Roxy and Alfie's wedding).

Viewing figures (from the first airing of the episode) for this year:

7.3 - Wednesday 1st January

7.88 - Thursday 2nd January

7.72 - Friday 3rd January

7.9 - Monday 6th January

Thursday onwards should be enough to get an official consolidated figure above 9 million hopefully.

I stopped watching last February, soon after Zainab left because I was finding it all a waste of time. After hearing positive comments I began watching again on Christmas Eve and once more I'm hooked. Amazing what a change in producer can do.

Oh gosh, I miss Zainab SO MUCH.

I'm hoping DTC surprises us and brings her back. :D

I think he's gonna keep bringing lots of familiar faces back. I can't wait to see what he does with Stacey's return. It's a trip down memory lane for EE lately, and it feels good.

I do love these returns, not sure if the current producer was responsible for bringing back Ronnie and David but they seem to have settled back in really well!

And on that note, Sonia is back next week!

Looking forward to Sonia returning, hopefully there's fireworks, or at least an interesting storyline.

We need Kim back though.

Apparently Rebecca is going to have a teenage pregnancy just like Sonia did, however it is only rumours at the moment.

Surely making Sonia the youngest granny EVER. She'll only be 29.

I read spoilers for episodes in the next couple of weeks and they say that

Carol finds a pregnancy test, which coupled with the fact it's been said that 'Rebecca is most definitely her mother's daughter, that's all we're saying' would strongly suggest that's true.

It will be very weird if it does happen

as T Boy pointed out, Sonia would be a 29 year old grandmother!

Laurie Brett sounds so STRANGE with an English accent now. The Scottish accent >>>
'What is it you young people say? Yolo' Denise <3
Is this arm-wrestling tournament going to end with Johnny winning and Linda standing there looking like a baffled sheep? *.*

I was thinking the same!

Missed opportunity.

Was still hilarious to see Shirley having a pop at Linda again, though. Linda's honestly such a detestable character. :drama:

I quite like Linda. There's something about her that I just adore when I shouldn't!

I was loving Linda prior to the last couple of episodes. Hope it's just a blip and she comes around soon enough. All of the family are pretty great, Nancy is awesome (when she isn't outing people).

Probably the best line ever in Eastenders.

(Well it's not but it was just so fab to hear Denise say that!)
