April 5, 201312 yr Nahh, Just Give Me a Reason has recently got to number 2 in the charts, she is doing brillo-pads :D
April 7, 201312 yr Author I officially take this comment back, its about to go 2x platinum!!! Just give me a reason is smashing allover the place. Decline my ass
April 8, 201312 yr But even before, it was obvious she wasn't in decline. I mean, when you made this thread, her album was sitting in the Top 10 during the biggest sales period of the year. Although, I have to admit, much as I love her, I am a bit puzzled at HOW she's managed to stay so successful even when most of her peers have long since fallen by the wayside. Before the album came out, I was just hoping for 300k, but now 800k looks a possibility.
April 8, 201312 yr P!nk always seems to surprise people when she's so successful. She seems to be one of those artists who seem to be smaller than they actually are, success wise. People often under estimate her, when she's arguably one of the biggest pop stars on the planet right now. She may not have as many chart entries as the likes of Rihanna, GaGa, Beyonce at any one time, but she's just as big.
April 8, 201312 yr Very well said Jonjo. Pink is not constantly in the media papers etc like the likes of Rihanna and Gaga plus unlike Rihanna she is not afraid to take a break. None of Pinks albums have under performed in anyway, she remains quiet consistent and has done through out her career. Her latest single just give me a reason now looks likely to end up one of her biggest selling and i believe will become a platinum selling single for her in the UK. Her album has lots more sales to go yet, it is currently top 5 and selling well and a fourth single will increase sales at a later date.
April 8, 201312 yr She seems to be one of those artists who seem to be smaller than they actually are, success wise. And literally height-wise too, I've heard. :P
April 8, 201312 yr I'm not being funny, but I think the main reason for Pink's continued success is her drive and how much she's enjoying herself. Christina is supertalented but she doesn't appear to have the ethic Pink had. Britney doesn't have the talent Pink has. Today's stars seem to be all about following trends and keeping up appearances whereas Pink has always stayed true to herself. People will moan 'oh it's Pink by numbers' everytime a song comes out but it is her own unique sound as no one else is doing it. She doesn't strive to cause controversy at least not these days and her albums are so PERSONAL. The songs are true to her and that's how people can relate to her because we've all shared similar personal experiences. Rihanna could never.
April 8, 201312 yr You are so right there. I am soo glad to see P!nk getting this kind of success, alot of my other fave singers who are like her (Alanis Morissette, Dido, Jewel etc) do not get much, if any success and they put so much more effort into their music than singers like Rihanna who fart out shit album after shit album.
April 8, 201312 yr The thing with P!nk is that with every album I expect her to do just alright, but she always SLAYS.
April 9, 201312 yr Whilst I'm not as big a fan of her as Rihanna, Katy Perry, Beyonce etc. I really do think she's underrated in her success. She's never really had a 'flop era' (Try This still went Platinum in the US and UK) unlike Christina Aguilera, Nelly Furtado etc. who are viewed as 'bigger' than her in their impact.
April 9, 201312 yr Queen of slaying!! A matter of weeks ago you thought she was flopping :/ make your mind up

April 10, 201312 yr Author pACePi441ds I never said she was flopping, dont put words into my mouth. I thought she was declining not flopping.

Yeah, Beyonce and Christina Aguilera are viewed as bigger than her, but Pink is really ahead of both of them in all aspects really. I mean, is it even possible to say Pink's career success in the UK is now ahead of Britney's? Certainly Pink's never had (and almost certainly never will have) a hit as massive as Baby One More Time, but on album sales and longevity Pink is miles ahead of her.
