To be honest I haven't heard the song and have no intention of listening to it so have no idea how much she contributes to it. It just makes me laugh that Aguilera fans were saying the exact same things 18 months ago. Her part is clearly the BEST BIT and adds SO MUCH to the song, it's going to REALLY HELP HER. Erm, yeah...

^ I don't know why are u putting Britney and Xtina in same line since even Britney's worst selling album is bigger than Xtinas last two in UK.

Please name me all massive hits from will.i.am in UK PLEASE.

Keep trying.

here's most recent live singing from her, 2-3 months ago on X-Factor, she was singing happy B-Day to La Reid.

sounds good I would say.

Jesus she cant hold a note to save her life. I could just imagine Mel B cutting her off after 2 lines and being like 'NO' if she auditioned for X factor.

does "scream & shout" HAVE to be big based on one artist or the other? because tbh i think it might be more down to the fact it's been heavily featured on the likes of US X Factor / Dre Beats and is peeerfect radio / club fodder. and considering the actual song itself is as simple as it gets, it will appeal more regardless of who is on it...

a song doesn't do well just because of ONE factor, a song only does well because it was a combination of all the right things, released at the right time, and promoted in the right places - this accounts for every song e v u r

How are my Spice Girls doing?

They're bombing horribly. Geri reportedly terrified for her finances.

I know that is cute, thanks for watching

I think 'Scream & Shout' actually might help to re-ignite Britney's career (and I say this as someone who (correctly) predicted that 'Moves Like Jagger' would do fuck all for Xtina's career (and also as someone who dislikes both Xtina and Britney)). Just because this single feels like it has a better selling point as a big collaboration then 'Moves Like Jagger' which just had a really wide appeal musically (for reasons I can't understand). What do I know tho. Anyway, I definitely think Britney has helped the song a lot, though not as much in the UK as elsewhere in the world.

I think iTunes has reverted - they show Viva Forever at #214 when it was Top 75 yesterday and is 59p.

Exactly what I wanted to say but I didn't know how to word it. Well done! :D

No, that is its right position. It is a 14 year old song, Itunes giftcard effect is killing it as kids only download things from the last 12 months. It should get another boost tomorrow after the documentary is aired again.

Leww the voice of reason.

Well of course it hasn't done well solely because of the names involved. The names are a contributing factor though, and we are arguing which name is the biggest factor. Because you know, we have exciting lives.
Definitely seems less pronounced than usual. Odd. Wonder if sales will be way down on last year's gift card week as well? (Although to be fair the gift card effect starts later than it did in the equivalent week last year).

I definitely doubt the #7-#200 sales are going to be at their highest in the 21st century again like last year.

The gift card effect might not have happened as I think there is a problem redeeming iTunes vouchers - Out of 4 iv tried to redeem only one has been accepted with the others saying there is an error an to contact Apple.
