Posted December 29, 201212 yr So with 2013 only days away, which artists are gearing up to release new records in 2013. Whose going to be big and who is going to flop. Eminem Take That Paramore Beyonce Jessie J Lady GaGa Rihanna (surely..) Katy Perry U2 Akon The Wanted Off the top of my head, they're the only acts I can think of that are due/expected to release in 2013. The wait for a new Justin Timberlake album might finally be over aswell.
December 29, 201212 yr Tinie Tempah? Ed Sheeran? Chase & Status? Michael Bublé probably due a new album for 2013 also, on a completely different note. Edited December 29, 201212 yr by Bré
December 29, 201212 yr New Saturdays album out in early 2013 also. I dread to THINK how that is gonna do. :(
December 29, 201212 yr Author Tinie Tempah? Ed Sheeran? Michael Bublé probably due a new album for 2013 also. Forgot about all three of those. Tinie Tempah will be mahoosive.
December 29, 201212 yr Gaga aside, I am insanely excited for (potential) new albums from La Roux and Foster The People. Both will probably have less success than their former albums, but they are definitely welcome back
December 29, 201212 yr I have a feeling Akon will flop with his latest release, unless he gets a really big collaboration with a mega star. The Wanted might struggle with their next album too, they can't keep repeating this Eurodance sound forever... On the other hand I think Eminem will have a pretty big era, thanks to featuring on 'My Life' and 'C'mon Let Me Ride' prior to his own material. The females are pretty hard to predict, although I think GaGa will slip even further into 'fanbase act' territory.
December 29, 201212 yr i take it we will have to wait until next october for most of the big releases as usual? When is Skylar Greys album released?
December 29, 201212 yr Paramore smash please, I hope that Brand New Eyes wasn't their commercial high watermark. Queens of the Stone Age taking advantage of a fallow period of albums and stealing a #1 is pretty much the best I can hope, Imagine Dragons doing well would also be lovely.
December 29, 201212 yr I'm anticipating the release of the following albums: [*]Everything Everything (Jan. 14) [*]Biffy Clyro (Jan. 28) [*]Imagine Dragons (Feb. 18) [*]Rudimental (Feb. 25) [*]Bastille (Mar. 4) [*]Laura Mvula (Mar. 4) [*]Kodaline (Mar. 18) [*]Tom Odell (Jun. 17) Majority of those are all debut albums. In terms of material, I think Tinie Tempah is one of the biggest names on the list - here's hoping he delivers. All of his singles thus far have involved another artist, so I reckon after "Drinking From the Bottle", Tempah could well attempt to keep the 'dance' route going and sign a big producer up. Katy Perry and Jessie J are both 'big' names to hopefully release in 2012 - there's a supposed collaboration between the two; would love to see that released first.
December 29, 201212 yr Tinie Tempah will definitely continue collabing with electro/dance acts as usual. Hopefully more from Labrinth, Chase & Status, Stargate, Swedish House Mafia (well, with the members of the group ) and Ishi on his next album. I also think Disclosure, DJ Fresh, AlunaGeorge, Nero, Skream/Benga would be awesome. I don't think Justin Timberlake will release another album unfortunately. :( Plus, the music scene atm is NOT suitable for him at all, can we really imagine him releasing a song like Starships or California Gurls? If he did release an album now (or any time since 2008) it would've flopped imo, despite how massive he was before.

It's lovely how you conveniently ignore every non-electropop song that's done well in the last four years just to make a point.
December 29, 201212 yr Röyksopp! I assume they've an album on the way since they released a new single. And I hope Katy B is following up that superb EP. Highly anticipating Foals' 'Holy Fire' (11/02) and Delphic's 'Collections' (28/01) on the basis of what's been released from them so far... also a new Yeah Yeah Yeahs album should be on the way, and finally M.I.A.'s newbie and Azealia Banks' debut, although god knows how the latter's going to turn out. Laura Marling also has one soon apparently, though if the NME is right about it opening with a "twenty-minute medley" I'm not entirely sure how to feel... Oh, and MutyaKeishaSiobhan FINALLY delivering something.
December 29, 201212 yr It won't be big at all, but according to Wikipedia Laura Marling is releasing a new album in February.

He's already recording a new album. He confirmed it himself a few months ago. How well he does I have no idea, a lot has changed since 2006/2007. But there will be an obscene amount of interest in whatever he does release, especially if it is as good as his last two albums.
December 29, 201212 yr Katy Perry releasing again already?! It will have been ~3 years since her last album by the time she releases it. That's pretty standard if not comparatively long for pop artists.
December 29, 201212 yr I can maybe imagine Katy going back in a more guitar-pop direction like some of her earlier hits (like kind of more back in the direction of Pink and Avril Lavigne).
