Seeing as it's looking like being very close this week then i think that James Arthur is going to spend a 3rd week at #1 and it will be the physicals that will give him the lead - We are still selling alot at work and I'm sure he is still getting lots of impulse sales in the Supermarkets etc,

I don't understand that logic. Surely James' physicals aren't selling THAT much to easily secure him for another week at #1? On its first week, didn't Impossible sell 'only' 88k and he's onto his fourth week so I doubt it's still selling a lot of physical CDs.

Anyways since PSY is decreasing rapidly now, I'm having my bet at the Top 3 remaining the same as last week. Unless James Arthur drops a signifcant proportion in the next few days or brit.i.am gains on him by a lot.

Don't forget the first week he only had 4 days of sales, the track was release to stores on Weds.

Regardless you'd have thought the majority of people would've bought their copy 4 weeks afterward. :( Do we know how many physicals he sold last week? :)

I don't care about the chart positions. I want to see some mammoth sales again!! :D
Pink  11!

Boo, so much for it having a smooth chart run without any changes in direction (apart from starting to fall after peaking) :P

I'm glad i'm not the only one that obsesses about this (including in my personal chart)

Love the track but, from a geek perspective, fear it'll ruin that no.8 peak.

52. JME & Wiley - Banger :w00t:

And are Public Enemy and House of Pain back in the top 100 because they're discounted?

House Of Pain yes but Public Enemy are back mainly because of the 'Last Leg of the Year' show (the one-off return of 'The Last Leg' that was shown throughout the Paralympics) I believe.

Thanks! I should've guessed with Jump Around, it did seem to be permanently discounted last year. Kind of like Bring Me To Life was in 2011.

Loads of kids/teenagers have been buying the CD single with gift vouchers and Christmas money they got - Also the fact that the CD single is stacked high by the tills is still leading to countless impulse purchases.

I highly doubt it, I mean the physical numbers won't be skyrocket high even with the gift vouchers and Christmas money. Plus I wouldn't say HMV is exactly the best indicator as to how something sells physically in one store. Overall if you have the HMV data for every store, yes, but if not one store is hardly a good indicator. :P

I didn't say sales of the physical would 'skyrocket' - If you look at my original post I merely said that if sales are as close as they are looking like being then the physical could be enough to keep James in the lead.

Ah right I see, my bad! I suppose so but if will.i.am extends the lead on iTunes later on the week, I think James will just about have to lose the crown to the duo instead. :o

Hopefully some That That/Gary Barlow songs get a boost after his show finishes on itv. Rule the world will most likely benefit the most if its performed, im so hoping he performs lie to me.

Can see 'The Ultimate Collection' getting the biggest boost seeing as it's £3.99 on iTunes and already in the Top 100. 'Sing' is already charting too after it's use on the NYE fireworks show too.

I dont think gary will perform sing tonight but if he does we may see a top 100 return. I agree its likely the ultimate collection will benefit the most as so far he has performed greatest day, back for good and pray. I hope he does more solo stuff soon as i want him to sing lie to me as i love it, lie to me so should have been a hit in its day.
