The "mashing of different songs put together" kinda sound worked for 'Flower Power' but this...all over the place, pretty bad overall.

Yeah, I'm massively disappointed with this new single - what a mess.

This negativity is not a pleasing sight. :cry:

I actually don't even know which part of the video is the start of the song and which parts are just intros, it's that messy.

The song is meant to be in a conversation structure, with a boy and a girl constantly talking to each other hence the sudden jumps back and forth. "I Got a Boy" is seen as an experimental song for Girls' Generation as they wanted to try something different.

 

Oh and if it's a mess, blame French producer "Will Simms" for this mess! :angry: He wrote this and produced the song along with producing for M. Pokora's "I Got A Little Shorty" and No Angels' "Disappear" (German Eurovision 2008 single).

Oh I agree, their Japanese albums tend to be much more superior than their Korean ones. I think it's because SM Entertainment tries far too hard for them to create something 'unique' and thus ending up turning into a pile of mess whereas their Japanese materials are just more easy-going and thus produces the best results out.

 

A lot of people say it's the Korean Biology, I don't quite get the comparison though bar the fact they both are messy produced.

It's just the fact that they're both pop songs by girlgroups that have very weird structures and sound like a few different songs pieced together. Of course, 'Biology' does that sound infinitely better.
