Tbh has anyone seen or heard from omrimayo since the dreaded NUMBER THREE FLOP from JT!?

I wish Kobbar would come back, every post from him was funny.

That's the only reason I'm wanting "Thrift Shop" to smash. "Same Love" is so so good and needs to be huge (and obviously the message is amazing).

I think Same Love will probably be big in the US especially, because they'll probably use the song as part of gay-rights campaigns, which will get it a lot of exposure.

 

Same Love is at #420 in the UK, and #117 in the US currently.

Just gave it a listen for the first time. Wow :wub:. Completely did NOT expect this after Thrift Shop (which i do love too).

 

Both songs will no doubt be huge in the near future (but for very different reasons :lol:)

Thrift Shop is surely gonna be one of the year's best sellers. There seems to be a bit of a revival of the tongue in cheek, novelty songs from late 90s/early 00s lately what with Gangnam Style & that little chick thing doing well in Europe, I never thought I'd see that again!

I don't think it will, but I think it'll be his biggest chart hit yet. Runaway is back up to #145 atm. That's honestly a song I never expected to see back in the top 200.

Yeah, it's climbing extremely fast. I said a few weeks ago I think when it gets Radio 1 support it'll shoot into the top 10. I think it might be at #1 by the time it gets to A-List.

 

One particular mid-00's song that Thrift Shop is VERY similar to imo is Get Right by Jennifer Lopez (which is one of her best songs imo).

Also re; 'Same Love' by Macklemore I think it's an inspiring song purely because it's rare to hear what I consider to be a rap ballad. Also the fact it has a pro-gay message will help boost the song too. I was actually very surprised when I first watched the video. Like others have posted, it wasn't what I expected to hear. Thought it'd be another 'Thrift Shop' type song. Macklemore could have 2 big selling hits by the end of the year.

No chance, the EP pre-order is nowhere near the top 200. It will probably give him a second top 10 hit and might outpeak 'Watchtower' but there's no way it'll be #1, think we're in for a second week of Bingo Players (their lead is holding up much better than I expected, will.i.am still on 0.5938).

 

Having now read about 'Same Love' (and realised the featured artist is not Miranda Lambert of country music 'fame' but a randomer who has apparently been compared to James Blake (which interests me greatly)) I definitely think it has a good chance of being a second big worldwide hit for Macklemore and Ryan. Just a slight possibility that the UK public won't take them seriously after 'Thrift Shop'.
